Buying the console you want vs the one everyone else wants...

Well in contained some information, although most of it was incorrect

Most? 5 out of 7 ain't bad?

XBOX One has a hardware upscaler, so games running at 720p upscaled to 1080p will have the higher frame rate

Look at any game or graphic card review site and you will see that the lower the resolution, the higher your frame rate. Correct

Kinect, who wants a pink and blue light on the top of their controller for motion tracking?

Kinect uses your body for motion tracking, the PS4 uses lights on top of the controller. Correct

No Cloud support on PS4 - I was not aware Sony had an Azure type cloud service. Stand corrected!

No MP3 / DLNA on PS4 - again, I had not heard PS4 was brining MP3 play back to the system. I was under the impression they were going with their Unlimited music offering. Same with DNLA. - Stand corrected!

No TV Integration on PS4 - XBOX has an HDMI INPUT, PS4 doesn't and they have stated there will NOT be a PlayTV device. TV Integration might not be in the UK at launch but it is coming. Correct

No Win8 Apps on PS4 (XBOX Music and PLEX!!!!!!) - Microsoft have confirmed the xbox will run Windows 8 apps. There will be a SkyPE service at launch with skydrive coming later in 2014. There are already rumours on a Plex service for the console. Correct

No Hollywood backing on PS4 (TV exclusives) - Microsoft execs have been in hollywood and secured numerous TV exclusive shows for xbox. Correct

I don't care if people want those services or not. Individuals personal requirements do not concern me. The facts of each system however do. Do not bash one console just because YOU don't want those extra features.
Example, you may not want the TV integration, but my disabled friend who after a stroke is unable to use the TV remote will find changing the channel via a voice command to be VERY useful.

Personally I know my 3 and 4 year olds will love playing games via Kinect

1. The Xb1 upscaler is EXACTLY IDENTICAL to the one in the PS4, it is simply the AMD Upscaler which is in both GPU's and every other GPU in this family. so that makes this point void.

2. The colour light on the controller is not an issue due to the fact I won't be able to see it when playing games. I have no interest in motion gaming. (this one is obviously an opinion)

3. Sony does indeed have the capabilities to do everything MS is doing via the cloud (although the exact technology will likely differ)

4. MP3/DLNA is not currently supported on PS4 but is rumoured to be coming in the second update (due late 2013/early 2014) - this one isn't confirmed so i'll let you off)

5. You are correct PS4 does not have the TV intergration like XB1, so if you want that stuff great :)

6. No W8 apps on PS4, however there will be lots of apps that are on both and will be on a pay wall on XB1, but not on PS4 so that's something to think about.

7. Sony owns several of the largest movie studios in the world, that's some pretty good Hollywood backing!

I was a PS fanboy as I got a PS1 and PS2. I had no interest in an Xbox and was happily waiting for a PS3 until I saw Gears Of War then I got a 360 straight away.
As much as I like my 360 and the people I play online with, the X1 just isn't doing it for me so I'm going for the PS4.
I'll probably lose some of my 360 gaming buddies but I'm sure I'll cope.

Haha, epic. And dint Sony back in February make announcements about working with Sony's movie side of things for exclusive content? yes

Regarding cloud, wasn't it Sony who first revealed cloud gaming back in February with the multi million dollar purchase of Gakai. Isn't Sony the only console company offering complete cloud gaming?

How has yet another thread turned into Xbox One vs Sony again?! I'm getting sick of this now. None of it is relating to the original point of this thread in the slightest.

It actually started with the very first reply in this thread.

I don't really understand why of all the posts you had to choose from you decided to delete mine...

There was nothing offensive to it.

I don't see how you can argue that the power of the hardware isn't relevant to the discussion. It is also true to say that the other features are also relevant to the discussion, however when people are making "facts" up as they go along, I don't see why you're causing confusion and standing in the way of people pointing out corrections or when someone is just talking absolute rubbish.

Because the question asked was "Anyone else buying the console everyone else wants rather than the one they want?"

Considering the power arguments have already been done to death, they are not relevant to what is a simple question.

If that's true then why did you single me out? Why haven't you locked/deleted the whole thread?

I'v also noticed that you only start doing that when the argument starts to favour the PS4. You are clearly biased towards the Xbone and it is affecting your moderating IMO.

Because I was trying to get people back on topic. Turns out, as usual, it was a pointless request.
