Jumped on last night to have a play.

The MP4 felt just like the iRacing version, maybe a touch more understeery. I still find it not very exciting to drive though. I am tempted to go a side by side comparison...but I'm lazy :P

Brands feels very gripy and I'm not sure they have got T4 (Surtees) correct. It feels a lot easier to every other Sim I have been on.

Was racing with a friend and it was pretty cool seeing his inside front locking up :D

Only a very small amount of the laser scan data has been applied so far. the rest of the loft is reasonably accurate for corner radius, but not so good with elevation and track width. from what i understand they just got it up and running quickly so we would have something to play with for christmas
 
Have to say, I'm not sure what they are aiming with now they've updated the menu, but it isn't easy on the eyes to use.. Its a mix of two UI and its all a bit messy.

Game has had some big updates, not all of them in a good way either. Its still way into development however its not moving forward all that quickly IMO and I simply hate the new menu system truth told.
 
The Mclarens are nice, they just update the sound set for it, keep meaning to grab a few screenshots.

They are meant to be working on the AI but its not going well IMO. I think its getting worse, but thats just me maybe, this is the area i'm not overly happy with. Hopefully as time goes on it'll improve - its still early days.

But trust me, the menus don't work. The colour scheme is odd, it doesn't work well at all.... I'm not sure where they are taking it, not making much sense to me..

However Le Mans circuit has had huge updates, and looks fantastic in the right conditions.

The UI started being updated a while ago to a 'windows 8 metro' style. A bunch of this was added to the game and most people thought it was a bit crap so there is a new direction being taken with the UI which, by the sound of things, has started to make its way into the game. This is why there are two new menu styles. there are probably a few leftover bits from the original placeholder UI which wont help matters at all either
 
Haven't played this in a long time.

Cars seem to have a lot less grip than ever before.

UI is rubbish, but there seem to have been some tweaks in the graphics and performance.

Can't see me spending much time with this game anymore.

It's taking so long to get the developers to nail anything down and stick to it.

The only reason I haven't asked for a refund is that I've been in it for so long now, I may as well wait and see if it pays out.

This. Has the guy who recorded the sound for that ever listened to any clips of a McLaren F1? :/
Currently glad I've not bothered with CARS at the moment going by what people are saying.

it's supposed to sound like the GTR?
I'd guess anyway since every other car in the game pretty much are the racing versions
0:18 sounds a lot like the pcars mclaren sound?


non of the pcars sounds are very good to me anyway they all sound to artificial and computerised like someone has stuck autotune over a car sound sample.

I might get a refund for pcars and buy AC instead. It's true that the sounds are mostly rubbish, along with handling never being quite right.

Nice idea. I too wouldn't pay for a house if i didn't like the look of the scaffolding erected whilst building it. Neither the sounds nor handling are finished but feel free to request a refund if you can't be arsed to wait. Asset to corsa is hardly stunning in the audio dept either BTW.

The Ui is very much wip and was only extensively reworked a few days ago. It is currently very messy.

I haven't bothered with it much since the end of the year. Since then the FFB has become useless I can't feel anything from the tyres other than curbs.

Frame rate seems to get lower with each build and as for the GUI I can't stand it.
Far too much searching and clicking to do simple things.

Ok here's how to get a refund:

goto eurogamer and post how you feel about the game - I thought it was terrible so I wrote on this post http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-02-13-project-cars-still-on-course-for-2014-release

My quote is:

So many comments and no one has tried it. I have and I've got full steam access. It handles bloody awfully and the tracks are shonky to say the least! This game will achieve absolutely no more than 5/10 in the metacritic reviews there is no doubt about it. The redeeming feature is the 3d car models and 2d weather skyscapes and lightning images are great but that doesn't make a game playable in the slightest. When i originally got this i thought it was poor in just about every way, so i uninstalled for the past year or so and reinstalled it the other day.

what exactly have they been doing ? The physics and FFB are so bad, some of the cars i tested seem even worse than i remember.

they have a ton of work to do before this becomes even remotely decent.
