So basically the preview version you got if owned NetKar Pro?

More importantly, the release of Assetto Corsa is imminent. Because of some issues (you can read about that here:

https://www.facebook.com/Assetto.Cor...6358147390506), we have had to change some assets of our strategy, finding the solution that will make you happy and will let the development team complete its job as soon as possible, and at its best.

Assetto Corsa will be available on Steam Early Access very, very soon. The game will cost 34,99 Eur (allowing to save 22% of the retail price!) and will give you access to the beta version, including its updates, plus the final version.

The latest news is that we have decided to include the Spa-Francorchamps track and three additional GT cars (Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, Mercedes-Benz SLS GT3 and Lotus Evora GTC) in the main build of the game, to offer to you the best selection of cars and tracks that we are able to deliver, without any additional cost. We hope you appreciate it. Thanks to this addition, Assetto Corsa will include in total 35 cars, 16 vehicle classes, 11 circuits and 3 additional scenarios. Other extra contents will be added in 2014, in order to guarantee a long-life to this simulation.

The first build of Assetto Corsa includes the main structure of the game and 8 classes of cars for a total number of 11 vehicles, with the aim to guarantee just from the beginning the chance to enjoy the dynamic model of the game racing with different kind of vehicles.

As part of the early access program, an update with new cars, tracks and features will be available every two weeks, adding new contents and improving the existing ones. All the vehicles and tracks will be released in a level of completion close to the final one, with the aim to deliver, starting by the first version, an enjoyable and satisfying simulation, featuring cars and tracks reproduced at their best, with the exception of unknown minor bugs that will be fixed and polished in time for Assetto Corsa 1.0.

During the whole process, the AI, Multiplayer and damage model features will be progressively added in the scheduled time, in order to close in short time the final release, that will include the career mode and other exclusive contents.

So, the McLarens are in - 12c, 12c GT3 and F1. Fun to drive and sound great. The F1 is a real handful....:)

Ben Collins was at SMS studios and has said the F1 car still isn't right, but the Formula C car is pretty much spot on.

Below are some notes I managed to get down during the time we had, going over some of the points that were covered;

On Physics/handling
- Test drove Formula C in the track Bologna in SMS rig
- Formula C is close to real life (a subtle feedback on the steering wheel would be huge jump when going into a spin – stab of release as you spin out, then heavy feedback) / more grip when sliding
- Formula B – ‘front wooden tyres’
- Ben went through the points from his post the other day, including tyre heat and rain (http://forum.wmdportal.com/showthrea...l=1#post583460)
- Fleshy colour of tyres a ‘would like’ down the line
- Also points raised and looking forward to rain and the physical handling effects of rain, especially with puddles (causing major spin) – ability to pre-empt and react to this makes it a bigger challenge
- Breaking/steering in corners better but spinning out too long – short sliding snappy grip preferred
- Be good for each vehicle to have a default setup/baseline as a jumping off point to tweak (this already happening with weekly CPFT?)
- Good to know what cars are being tweaked/worked on / tyres being worked so that they can be checked as they are updated.
- It was mentioned about the weekly tweaking CPFT posts (i.e. http://forum.wmdportal.com/showthrea...FQ-400-Sakitto) – to keep an eye on this and to test those cars and tyres and tracks that are being improved to then give up to date feedback on just edited setups
- Scenarios of tracks/vehicles/tyres that Ben has noticed to be posted up in his thread also, and is happy for feedback in this thread too
- Feedback on Karts – need big tweaking. Position and POV are strange in the karts. Also, ability to hold brake and accelerate (steering with peddle almost?), and to make it feel like a proper kart experience (Mention of Formula C could be realistic on karts?)
- Next meeting to include Physics team members to go through all of the above in a more detailed and technical level (though Ben’s scenarios that are posted up and will be posted up should help – Casey aware of these)

tried at the weekend a few laps with a few cars some seemed a little better but obviously work needs doing .cheers for the ben collins info barry.

i tried formula one , caterams , a couple of bms . my biggest issue is breaking or lack of it and steering . hopefully they progress and get it right soon.

Suggest a trip to Specsavers. :D

Played this today for the first time in a couple of months.

I only drove the McLaren MP4 12-C GTR3 and I have to say the game has improved a lot in the handling department.

You can feel the understeer and wheels locking under braking. You can also feel the tyres grip up as the warm up.

Overall it's looking good to me, I still think it needs more cars and tracks though, but I'm sure there will be more added as the release gets closer. I know there's at least 3 or 4 more tracks to come from the MSV licence alone.

The game seems to run smoother and a lot of the tracks are looking better than before as well.

The AI is still rubbish though, I think I prefer the rubbish AI in Gran Turismo 5 than the AI in this that just tries to kill you all the time.

Project cars has improved massively over the past few updates. They've fixed the HDR issues, improved fps during night and rain races and the handling has also been improved. there has been lots of changes, too many to list but its a big improvement.

There is a lot to do still, career mode, AI etc... so much to do, but its got potential, despite what some might say..

Had to laugh, saw an advert for Forza 5, drive your dreams it said, with a mclaren MP 12C GT being the star car.. Made me fire project cars and think - awesome who needs xbox one lol

what you forget is forza will work guarenteed. so many knock games like that but they do get them right for the audience they sell too.

pcars has improved but.. still has a long way yet.

What do you mean when you say Forza is guaranteed to work?

Console games have bugs and issues, just PC games, as well as needing patches and fixes.

I think pCARS has the advantage of having a large group of players with different hardware bug reporting all the time. So issues at launch my well be less likely than other PC releases. Plus pCARS will be on next gen consoles anyway so the similarity in game code between them and PC will be even closer.

What???

Forza 4 had bugs just like any other game be it on PC or console. Main one I remember was a memory leak which caused online lobby crashes, if I remember correctly it took them weeks to fix this bug as well!

So NO Forza is not gaurenteed to work!

yes any game will have bugs but you know that it will probably be solved quite quickly as its a massive franchise for consoles. so it is a safer bet of it working out the box than pjcars for eg.

You would think that the bigger the title the quicker the fixes would come but I'm sure you will agree this is not always the case

And you did say originally was "what you forget is forza will work guarenteed" which is obviously not the case.

Actually patching console games takes longer than PC games because of having to go through the certification process for Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo, depending on the platform.
