I bought a senior package when it was on being backed at the start, really not touched the game at all, played few times over its progress...

If you haven't added the game to Steam, then login to your WMD account and your Steam key will be there. Add it I Steam, download and play.
Also make sure your WMD profile has a valid PayPal account associated with it and is setup to receive payments.
Your Steam tool pack will become a full game version upon release.
I do not understand all the haters of this game, I really do not. Most of the negativity you do see online is from people who are not even backers. Sure, some are but the majority are not.
The game has high playability, is not so mod dependent as rFactor, more accessible than iRacing.
There was no point them making something like a game which already exists.
I for one in no way wanted a "gated" experience. I just want to race. Let me choose what cars/tracks I use, not force a grind fest.
Even if I am the only one, I enjoy this game, it reminds me of an original TOCA game from the 90's in some ways and look forward to a full release so the game can move forward.

Just downloading an 11.8GB patch today (full member pack) 
Considering there have been near daily patches for weeks, what could they possibly have patched that requires 11.8GB

Nothing in the release notes that points to anything that would require 11GB, but if there are a lot of files being overwritten, then it could be large download.

Its a mistake and it shouldn't have been that size. Read the WMD forums for a fuller explanation.

What's the explanation, or is that under NDA as well?
I really doubt its under NDA. They used a new build machine today so all the timestamps got updated, causing lots of stuff to look like it needed to be updated when in reality it didn't. It will be fixed some time next week, they don't know when next week though because it is quite a tricky problem to fix.

I can't access the forums as i've forgotten my password- I was looking for new tracks in the 11.8GB download and was very disappointed this morning
Except I'm going from what they've inferred on the 'Build Thread' over on the Official Forum... Which seems to imply even from the title that this is the release 'Build'.
