*******C.A.R.S - Community Assisted Race Sim*********

Sorry for asking im sure its in here somewhere but 3000+ post to look though,

How playable is it with a 360 pad? i'm currently living in a hotel room with work don't have access to a wheel.

done several laps of nordschleife so i hope they are warm, a clio cup shouldn't be sliding like it was at low speeds, maybe it's just the control pad i was using being twitchy which is why i'll get the g27 out

you drive them on racing slicks in real life?
Taking Palmer at Snetterton 300 with cold rear tyres led to a hairy but exciting moment.
seems it's realistic....

First lap with very cold rear tires = no grip.
Shifting back resulted in a very light rear end + a nice spin.
It's hard to see but the car almost rolled, luckily it didn't.
Had to pit to remove 3 buckets full of stones from the car ;-).

just because you do laps don't mean they are warm either you have to be going fast enough to get them upto temp in the first place.

once your brake pads are up to temp the wheels follow so do a lot of heavy braking to get your brakes up to like 600-800 degrees

I'm finding it the same with pad tbh. All the cars seem to slide about to easily like they have plastic tyres.

Really did not want to invest in a wheel but I think this game would be miles better with one.

Practice.

I have been a Junior member of pCARS for a few years.

Gamepad handling is very good, Just need to practice to get the feel.

I'm using the intermediate profile - my time is listed here under CooliceT (which is my Steam profile) http://cars-stats-steam.wmdportal.com/index.php/leaderboard?track=1300627020&vehicle=152867459

I've never deleted anything in steam, like I said though I literally just installed fresh and trying game out, did a few laps just to be ready.

I'm no stranger to racing games - my old YouTube profile - https://www.youtube.com/user/DriverProfiles (it's me as you can tell from my race suit ;)

using DashMeterPro and also pCARS Dash, both worth it!
I have to laugh...

I watched your 'How to Kart!' video. Immense. I love the way you try to warm up the tyres... On polished concrete in an indoor track at will get 30mph max. Good work. :D

what happens to people who paid for the beta?

If you added the beta Steam key you were issued with then, depending on your tool pack tier, either your beta key will become a retail key. Or you would've been issued with a discount voucher against buying the full game via Steam.

If you didn't redeem your beta Steam key at all, I believe, you wouldn't have received your discount voucher or retail key.

All of this information was available in the forum well ahead of the release.

Copy reshade64.dll, reshade.fx and sweet.fx into the folder with the project cars exe and rename reshade64.dll to dxgi.dll

Also you need to overwrite the original sweetfx settings file in the sweetfx subfolder. So delete the current one and rename my one to SweetFX_settings

The autodetect is a bit funky on reshade so it's easier to do manually.

thanks it works now, but why is the menu not sharp anymore? Do I have to turn in game SMAA off?
