Server is up, if a few could try to join, that would be superb.

At present, the pCARS server architecture is different to your traditional "dedicated server". It does not do "calculations" as such, it acts more as an intermediary for passing on data between all the connected clients, more of a rebroadcaster.

At present, the servers goto "idle" when nobody is connected to them and they do not show in the server browser.

If you try to join and the server is not listed, it either means:

A: Server is "Idle"
B: The server backend is playing up

You can check the server and backend status here:
http://cars-stats-steam.wmdportal.com/index.php/servers

If it is "idle", you can add the following to your Steam launch options for the game:

-searchds "*****OcUK_Forum*****"

UCBNO38.png

When you "create" a multiplayer, it will hook it onto the server.

That make sense?

The server does thankfully feature host migration (Host meaning not physical server location, just simply the person who is able to choose the settings for the server).

As the server is only joinable to us lot, this should not be a problem, if anyone does start taking liberties, we will hunt you with pitchforks and torches.

Hope that all makes sense, if not, ask away.

The Dedi servers will mature over time but at the moment, this is all we have :)

I hope to have a Teamspeak/Mumble server up in the next day or so, hopefully by tomorrow evening. Does anyone have any preference?

Edit:

Teamspeak server is up:

TS3 Server is up.

Feel free to use/abuse.

Any problems, let us know.

I'll be on tonight. Couldn't see server when I was on last night but it might have been mid race when I was browsing. They need to fix that annoying issue!

Anyone upto and including the above post has been whitelisted to the server.

Will having that command in the launch options still allow me to setup a mp game with a mate who isn't on the OCUK server list? He is a lurker of the forums but doesn't post I don't think.

Microsoft idiots who keep going on about saving pc gaming, every other year, oh we are sorry we neglected pc.

just came out and said people don't want forza for pc

People have been asking for a Gran turismo or Forza fame for about 10 ******* years on the pc......

Let's not forgret what microsoft said in 2014
http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/02/11/microsoft-really-really-is-into-pc-this-time-apparently/

MS do not give a crap I really hope steam os becomes a full on os and not just for gaming, microsoft need a kick up the arse to take pc gaming seriously

As much as i would like to see Forza or Gran Turismo come to PC i just think Sony/Microsoft would be shooting themselves in the foot if they did.

I was really hoping pcars would fill this gap but its a long way off.
i'm not even sure why a company doesn't want do their own clone of one of the games, It's a massive market.
