Had a quick go on ps4 controller and it works just fine, im sure i could tweak a few settings to get it spot on but default felt pretty good, any changes i should make?

Set the ds4 thing to launch on start up along with big picture mode so shall kove it downstairs to the tv in a bit :) may need a usb extension though :(

I use stock settings on 360 pad. Am happy enough at the moment.

How are CDkeys or other CD key retailers non "legit" ?

They use "grey market" keys, they are not authorised sellers and your mileage may vary (excuse the pun).

In some instances the developer will not get accurately renumerated either if that bothers you.

Keys may work, may not. Pay your money, make your choice :)

So, I'm all set. How do I actually access the OCUK server? I've got the launch term mentioned earlier but can't see it in the list when I go to online games. I presume that's where I should be looking?

Server is "Idle" as nobody is in there.

Edit:

Server is "active" now, someone has joined and started a session. Will be in the server browser.

The Server Idle thing doesn't seem to be working to me, I have had a supposed OCUK Created Server up almost an hour earlier and not a single join, currently trying it again but I don't think it'll work somehow...

EDIT: As I Alt Tabbed back in Stoltzy was there waiting :p So it looks like it does work!

Mike's released his 3D vision Alpha 3 fix and it's getting much better. You either need GPU grunt to max this or lower settings to get playable framerates. If you're using Win 8.1 also, you need to use this (Flugan's) Wrapper:

Project Cars 3D Vision Fix
Alpha0.03

Instructions
============
This game fix is still an alpha, and is made available as-is so that feedback can be given. DO NOT EXPECT EVERYTHING TO WORK, that's not what an alpha release is.

A. Install Files
----------------
1. Uninstall earlier alpha fixes, especially the ShaderFixes folder.
2. Copy all files in the archive to the location where pCARS64.exe is.

B. Edit Game exe to enable HUD
------------------------------
1. Make a backup copy of pCARS64.exe!
2. Using Notepad++ (not any other text editor), open up the pCARS64.exe
3. It will look like garbled characters and unreadable: DO NOT EDIT IT!
4. In the menus select Search
5. In the dialog box pick the replace tab
6. In the find box type "nvapi_Query"
7. In the replace box type "nvbpi_Query"
8. Click 'find and replace all' or whatever it is called
9. Save and Close

C. Run Game
-----------
1. Convergence and Separation are unlocked in the game so set them to what you want.
2. Go to Settings and set whatever you like EXCEPT Reflections must be "High" or lower, not "Ultra"
3. Start a race
4. IF you see the cars and tracks all rendered wrong, press Ctrl-T to toggle 3D off, then press Ctrl-T again to toggle it back on. This will clear it up.

Fixed
=====
1. Haloing and double imaging
2. Shadows render at correct depth
3. On screen HUD
4. Ghost Car
5. Smoke and dust halos
6. Some approximate fixes for reflections: in the car showroom, some car rear-view mirrors
7. Clouds in sunny Skybox
8. Clouds in stormy Skybox

Known Issues
============
1. If on starting the game it is all messed up in 3D, toggle Ctrl-T on and off.
2. Relections on Ultra don't work. Use High or lower.
3. Some car cockpits still have shadows that are a bit off
4. There is a large "moving shadow" that is always ahead of you. It renders in stereo, so does not appear as an eye strain, it just should not be there. It more noticeable in some tracks than others. I know the cause of this, just not worked out a solution.
5. I disabled some Sunglare and Bloom
6. Game menus are still a mess, but I find them quite usable still.
7. There have been reports of issues with AA. I have not experienced this though.
8. In general, rear view mirrors render incorrectly - it is a flat image, but shows the black haloing that was there before the fix. As noted, I have approximately fix a couple of mirrors, but there are too many cars to go through manually.
9. To my eyes, most reflections in the game are a 'bit off', for example car bonnet reflections seem ever so slightly too close - the bonnet is convex so the reflections should be slightly below the surface.
10. The 3DMigoto dll does not seem to be working in Win8.1. See elsewhere in the forum thread for how to use the Flugan Wrapper instead.

most the time they are buying boxed copies of the game and realising we have a global economy on earth.

my pcars cdkey was a photo of a cdkey from a physical copy of the game.

I don't care if they aren't an authorised seller ie part of the publishers monopoly.

demand sets the price, demand says devs and publishers are greedy.

Why should I be expected to pay £40 when some other country is paying less than half of that..

most dev teams now outsource loads of work to china and we don't see these savings passed on to anyone but the shareholders
