I wasnt try to show off but you need to understand that the average for pc gamers today is 1080p

No it is not.

http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey

Primary Display Resolution

1024 x 7684.41%
1152 x 864 0.82%
1280 x 720 0.71%
1280 x 768 0.67%
1280 x 800 4.53%
1280 x 960 0.87%
1280 x 1024 11.05%
1360 x 768 1.44%
1366 x 768 6.25%
1440 x 900 8.93%
1600 x 900 4.41%
1600 x 1200 0.85%
1680 x 1050 17.59%
1920 x 1080 7.77%
2560 x 1440 0.78%
Other 4.50%

1920 x 1080 still requires a decent amount of beef if you want twinklies enabled where as 1680 x 1050 can give good performance at a very good bang for buck ratio.

I am not poor, just tight :)

Jesus my god with headphones on that touring car sounds nuts

Only thing i dont like it how you dont need to use the clutch, apart from that it seems better than a LOT of finished games and it's not even beta yet. props to the developers

are you stupid or blind? or perhaps both... 1080p is still listed as the primary display resolution so it must be a glitch.

LOL - At least I am not as angry with the world as you are.

Get off your horse and go back to your cave.

you need to understand that the average for pc gamers today is 1080p

something wrong with the latest hardware survey probably a glitch 1080p took a 16.35% drop in one month?

I was aware of that, but even if you add the 16.35% onto the current figure, that is only 24.12% which makes it FAR from the average which you intially quoted.

Are you stupid or blind? or perhaps both?

£600 on a monitor? I hope that's exaggeration for effect. :p

As that money would get you 2560x1440. :p

yes, i was stating £600 because i would say thats the minimum i could spend to get something similar to NZXT30's monitor, and i was trying to point out that just because he can afford nice stuff, not everyone can

ps, if you read further in my post you will see that i say a similarly sized monitor to my current one will cost ~£300, perhaps a bit less, but thats still £300 that i cant afford right now

I wasnt try to show off but you need to understand that the average for pc gamers today is 1080p which is a big leap from your resolution so performance takes an equal big hit so the complaints about low fps are valid. By the way I am not rich or anything, good money management takes you a long way and many people in this country are terrible at it.

if you actually read my post you will see my explanation for my resolution not having an impact on the FPS drop vs no FPS drop. my FPS on both builds at the same (admittedly low) res didnt change. hearing people complaining about FPS made me thing i should also have had a proportional FPS hit, since my hardware can run my res at ~60FPS but i had no difference whatsoever, hence my confusion and my post

guys, someone on the forums has just pointed out a small problem with the tuning setup screen that makes a MASSIVE difference to the feeling of the cars. the great news is its a 30 second job to fix it

the problem was that some of the tuning screen values are reversed. ie, if it said you had 1 degree of toe angle you would actually have -1 degrees of toe angle. if you put a bigger value for downforce on the car you would actually get less downforce, etc, etc.

with that information its painfully obvious why the cars are handling strangely to anyone who knows a bit about: they are all running positive camber

so, if you want to fix the handling of the cars, just put the opposite amount of camber on the car compared to the default setup for each car. ie, if the default says -2 degrees, then change the setup to 2 degrees

i was gobsmacked at how much of a difference this made.

I'm interested in playing this but just had a question I was hoping someone could answer. From what I understand, you are paying for early access to the alpha/beta game with periodic updates and a chance to get a share of the profits for the game.
What is a little confusing for me is that once released I have read that the game will be free to play but you buy add on's such as car's and tracks? So during the alpha/beta you will be able to play those cars/tracks but will have to repurchase the cars and tracks upon release? Is that correct?

Thanks.

me too am like wtf at paying to play alpha  would love to try it but i aint paying to alpha test lool

You're really not getting the idea of the whole project here mate. The whole thing is being developed with the full integration and assistance of the community. So basically you get to say what cars/tracks/graphics etc you want in the game. They're not just expecting you to pay out just to bug-fix. Some of the guys on the WMD forums have even had "promotions" based on high levels of good work. It's a totally new concept and one you really should consider if you're even slightly into racing games.

Of course there are still loads of things to sort out but the latest build is a serious step in the right direction and today's build promises even better FFB and should start to address some of the input lag that seems to bug a lot of people.
