how deaf he is go check what won ;)

i test many games . i also test a game very similar to this at the moment. its free. the idea of the game is different ill give it that but basically you are funding the project with the hope of it becoming good or great.

in the mean while you are also doing the work of testing it aswell.

so yes you may get ideas implemented and this isnt new in games a lot are doing this but basically you are the bank.

hope it does well the game looks good which i told the head today earlier.

ill wait for open beta or proper demo as i just dont agree with funding them while i alpha test help give them ideas. yes you may get something back but what ? what if you come up with something awesome ? makes them a million youll get a few quid bargin :p

good luck with game im out on this one :D

I rest my case, because dg provides all the evidence I need.

And no, you really don't "get it". Further proving my point. You get much, much more than just early access even at junior level. You get to have a say in what goes into the game - way more than what you have skimmed their page and decided, which is that it's just an open beta with a price tag. It's much, much more than that.

so, if you want to fix the handling of the cars, just put the opposite amount of camber on the car compared to the default setup for each car. ie, if the default says -2 degrees, then change the setup to 2 degrees

i was gobsmacked at how much of a difference this made.

Any news on whether they have patched this yet?

There's no patching as such here, there are however daily/weekly/monthly builds depending on how much you've stumped up. Yes you are the bank to an extent I guess but if the sim sells even half decent amounts, you are supposed to get your money back and more besides. If you actually bother to check out wmdportal, I think you'll find that the development model really is something quite new.
Two guys on there have gone to the trouble of providing hundreds of photos, videos and behind the scenes access to @solitude@ in Germany and are being rewarded by having the track modelled especially for them. Another guy who won a time trial event is getting flown over from Brazil to help develop a track.

Lol has it been updated with the identified issue yet then :) I'm on the one month updates which I'd view as being a very similar plan to a normal games preorder plan

Special Build 141 now available.

Haven't tried it yet myself, but plenty of people on the WMD forum say the ffb is improved & steering lag is pretty much non-existant now . Hope it stays that way.

" We're going to release build 141 (which is a cummulative patch for 139) to all team members soon. The reason is that we may (™) have made something of a breakthrough with visual lag, and need it testing on as many systems as possible.

There is something of a but - some testers have seen a small amount of "world jitter" with the fix. We've added an important tweak value to the F1 dev menu which may help dial this out (at the expense of slightly more lag, but still a lot less than before). The value is in the "renderer" sub-menu and it is called "render bridge interval". The default is 16.7 - if you see any jitter you can try increasing this value to eliminate it (we've set the default quite aggressively to eliminate lag and make it as "challenging" a test as possible for all systems). Setting it to 75.0 will give you the same root behaviour as build 139.

One more important note - as part of this change we've disabled prediction on the moving steering wheel (which means it is now smooth again and synced with the driver arm animation). Even setting the tweaker value to 75.0 will not re-enable the prediction though, so you'll likely perceive slightly more lag at 75.0 than you did in build 139 "

Signed up to the forums on Saturday and they've still not activated my account. Was planning to buy into this and have a go on it on Monday, but I've had no activation email.

Checked the email I used to sign up and it's correct and the only one I use. There's nothing in my Spam folder either, so I don't know what's going on :(

I'll get there one day.

Ultra High Detail Glory In Project CARS

Even though Project CARS is already considered to be the most stunning looking simulation out there despite still being in pre-alpha state, work on graphical improvements is far from stopping.

Slightly Mad Studios have released a bunch of new preview screenshots today, showing off the new ultra high detail models on track.

The ultra high detail option allows players to check out their car in unmatched graphical detail that goes down to the smallest nuts and bolts as you can see below. Also included are first previews of the new historical driver model & helmet that is a perfect match for the historical Formula cars in Project CARS.

Stunning shots. I really like this project but I have to be honest with myself and say that despite the 141 patch CARS is still coming third for me at the moment, in terms of racing "feel", after rF2 and iRacing.

I always find that if I stop racing anything else for a while and immerse myself in CARS I do get used to the feel of their driving model, but as soon as I get back to iRacing I notice the improvement immediately. Still, CARS is definitely moving in the right direction. They're slowly "de-Shifting" it and making my life increasingly complicated as I try to decide which sim to fire up. :-)

I hope I can see something like this level of detail on the Wii-U version :)

nice one Crinkle though you do get the impression from some posters on here and nogrip that even if pCars came with a lifesize fully animated and functional Kelly Brook robot, they still wouldn't go for it. Can't for the life of me figure what's wrong with some folk.

Pretty happy with the new build, the new Formula A car is a beast. The ultra detail option seems to be fine with my medium range gfx card also, which is a nice surprise.

Seems to have come a long way since the earlier builds, the game is progressing really nicely. Really looking forward to the other four UK tracks appearing in the future.
