*******C.A.R.S - Community Assisted Race Sim*********

i honestly dont know what everyones problem is with the FPS. with my lowly 768MB GTX 460 i can happily get 60FPS with everything on highest except for 2x MSAA, 4x textures and medium shadows at 1360x768 res. its been like that for me since i joined at ~build 100

really impressed with project cars so far. i think people comparing it with shift are smoking sth or just trolling. it looks to have a lot of potential and the wmd forums are some of the best i've seen with the developers engaging in intelligent discussions with their customers. i just hope they secure enough funding to continue the project. tons of fun can be had already from just £8.50. btw i'm getting about 10fps more in dx11 compared to dx9 same settings. dx11 a bit buggy though at the moment.

sorry but you need to realise you are gaming at a prehistoric resolution.

unlike you, some of us dont have enough money to update their monitors every year. as much as i would love to spend £600+ on a new monitor and £1000 on a new PC to match your specs i just dont have the money. i bought my monitor originally as a TV for xbox playing about 4 years ago. at the time if i wanted a decent sized telly at 1080p i'd be looking at stupidly high prices. i see no reason to spend another £300 or so on a similarly sized 1080p monitor when this one is doing me just fine

also, i dont see why my resolution should affect the change in FPS over two builds. if i was gaming at 1080p i would have proportionately lower FPS for both builds, with the (percentage) change being unaffected

Fancied trying this out with my new gfx card... beautiful and runs so smoothly with everything at full, 8xAA + high FXAA!

They've really messed up the FFB in the latest build though - it was o---k before... now it's really rather horrible - ah well, lots of time for them to improve on it :D

The graphics, car models and sounds are wonderful though - this engine + rf2 physics and FFB = dream come true!

BAC Mono To Be Featured In Project CARS

Slightly Mad Studios are delighted to announce the latest licensing addition in Project CARS: the stunning BAC Mono.

WMD members will be the first to experience a virtual version of the award-winning Mono; a spectacular, ultra high performance, road-legal sports vehicle.

Designed by brothers Neill & Ian Briggs of the Briggs Automotive Company (BAC), the Mono is aimed at drivers seeking a purist driving experience by offering the latest racing technology wrapped in an aggressive design.

Unlike other lightweight sport vehicles that offer a passenger seat, the BAC Mono takes the quest for driving pleasure to a new level, following the design philosophy of open-wheelers by placing the driver and engine in the middle of the car for the best possible balance.

I wasnt try to show off but you need to understand that the average for pc gamers today is 1080p which is a big leap from your resolution so performance takes an equal big hit so the complaints about low fps are valid. By the way I am not rich or anything, good money management takes you a long way and many people in this country are terrible at it.

I just tried rfactor 2 and ill be honest i enjoy cars more, there isnt even a controller mapping for my thrustmaster f430 on rfactor 2.

C.A.R.S looks to be great

Are you kidding? On the current build?

I think the graphics are brilliant & personally, I like the sounds...

But the physics are soooo arcadey & the ffb is pathetic in its current form :(

I like the tracks and cars too... it's just they really need to improve the above for me to enjoy it :(

Agreed, still some 'arcadey' feelings in the game, but they are working to iron them out. They are constantly making handling tweaks.

Remember it's still pre-alpha.

i dont know about you guys but bathurst with the atom mugen gives me the best racing sim feeling ever and i've tried them all iracing, rfactor etc. yes some cars need tweaking but calling it "sooo arcadey" is just retarded.

Oh yes, didn't mean to sound like I was slating - it's started off well - it could just use quite a bit of improvement in those areas. I hope to offer some constructive feedback when I've spent more time with it.

I'd really like to see this improve as the graphics are wonderful - it could be something special... and as it's pre-alpha... they have a lot of time to work on it.

I read about it being a bit arcadey before I bought in - I still wanted to try it and I can already see the promise :)

Try spinning out the V8 radical in 1st gear coming out of a slow corner... it just grips... very fake.

I haven't tried the Atom Mugen yet though - so I'll have a go.

I think the FFB issues are build-wide at the minute though, so it might be best for me to wait til the next build is available... in it's current state, it's by far the worst sim i've played since getting my wheel!

Very very bad & my views are echoed by a lot of people... so I'd hardly call them "retarded".

It's easy to spin out most cars, if that's what floats your boat. :p

There is a good amount of acceleration control needed to keep the cars on the bloody road. And yup, I managed to finally buy it. It's really good and if they can improve the physics, then that's even better. :D
