Best i could manage, for now...

the devs have just released some early WIP photos of the new clouds that will work with the dynamic weather system. please excuse me while i pick my jaw up off the floor:

http://forum.wmdportal.com/showthre...Weather-System&p=170267&viewfull=1#post170267

those clouds are fully dynamically generated, this is not just a photo of the sky placed on the skydome like in some games with good clouds (like STALKER and possibly GT5)

can someone rehost the pictures for me please? imgur and photobucket are both saying no

Now that the slow down problem has shown up I've not touched the game, it's seems pointless to me now.

How will I ever know if I'm slow because of CPU or driving skills, even if they go back to the previous build I still have my suspicions it was already happening.

All you going to get is people turning down the graphics and fiddling with there PC trying to squeeze out a bit more speed.

some people are going round one of the ovals at a constant speed (by hitting the limiter in a gear on the stock setup) and posting their lap times.

there are some alarming differences showing up but it will let you know if you have any slowdown. some people have been quite helpful and shown times at different settings and a comparison with/without a CPU stress tester running in the background

the good thing is that the slowdown bug has been discovered now and not after release :)

more cloudy goodness

as soon as the devs give the green light to share the pics i'll embed them here. for the time being you'll have to make do with the link.

even though there are a couple of bugs that need sorting out its damned impressive, especially considering its dynamic

I have a i5-3570K also 2 x 6970's crossfire.
Is this common? any tips please/ i run @1920x1200.

SLI and Crossfire are not supported properly yet. Frame rates vary from track to track on the same settings. There hasn't been any optimisations at all yet. Even if you get a multi GPU set up working you may still need V-Sync enabled to avoid or help with micro stuttering. DX11 runs better than DX9.

try doing the old AFR friendly file rename thing. never having had a crossfire/SLI PC i dont know how to do that, but some people find it makes things smoother

@arknor: someone had pretty much exactly the same problem as you with the same wheel and has now solved it: http://forum.wmdportal.com/showthre...-Pedals(Fixed)&p=174763&viewfull=1#post174763
you reckon its worth giving it another go?

i thought you could just rename the pCARS.exe to something like AFR_Friendly pCARS.exe

i'm sure there will be something on the forums somewhere

In the Nvidia driver control panel you can set the PCARS exe to force SLI AFR 2 mode to get SLI working. I don't know how you do it for Crossfire though.
