*******C.A.R.S - Community Assisted Race Sim*********

Nahh it's maxing my connection out. Only 1.2mb/s tho, should be done in an hour or so :D

They keep saying Fibre is coming soon to my exchange, but they lie ;)

i havent tried the F1 car in ages. did it feel like a spin caused by wheelspin or icy rear tyres? i know F1 engines idle very high (~8000RPM IRL i think) so it might have been a bug with the clutch

was just like i had full grip then nothing . if i would have been tanking it id a understood .

will give it ago after next build.

were you doing it on the nurburgring? i know the track has been physically moved around a lot recently so possibly there's a place where they gave the track the wrong physical surface

its a very odd bug for sure. even in thunderstorm conditions i wouldnt expect that little grip

Decided to give this a bash, sadly it will only be with a 360 pad. But I've really been getting back into racing games so if I think it's worth it I'll probably get hold of a wheel.

I use the joypad and found that only having ABS on was far more playable than no aids at all. The Formula cars are still twitchy as hell though so be easy on the trigger. :)

Poor physics and the game looks about 10x worse in motion than it does in screenshot form, to the point where I don't even rate the visuals in their current state.

I use a 360 pad and find the handling to be quite nice, ive been able to set a few fastest laps (still record holder on DerbyGP using the BMW M1) I do occasionally swap to using my Fanatec PWTS setup but IMO the pad and game work very wheel together so don't bother most of the time.

I found the pad was no good for sim racing so thats good to hear. Has anyone tried the raceroom racing demo on steam for comparison, seems allright to me

what track are you playing? some are much more complete than others so some will look better and some will be pretty poor. Connecticut hill (Watkins glen) is probably the best looking track without any performance issues. until a couple of weeks ago the nurburgring looked like a dog but now its looking really nice too

*edit*
what's happened to the nurburgring? it looked really nice last week but now it looks half finished :(

hmm, me thinks there's going to be some unhappy junior members this month. the stats are being reset in preparation for ghosts which means you'll need build 301 to set times

Seriously this annoys the crap out of me now. My game has an annoying blur that also carries over to the steam overlay, not a single other game has it

build 302 will be up later today for team members and above. not only does this fix the setup loading bug but it means we can pick any time with a ghost on the leaderboard and race against it. apparently the menu is buggy but i doubt it will be a huge problem

right now the ghost is still opaque, but eventually it will fade as you get closer to it

Its about time we started doing some kind of hotlap competiton, especially now we can race Ghosts... Just managed to set the fastest M1 laps of both Derby tracks, National and GP if anyone fancies beating them.

try turning the ghosts on. i predict you will turn them off again within a lap because you cant see anything when you're inside your own ghost.

however, i do agree that a hotlap competition would be a great idea, as long as i'm not the one hosting it because i'm way to lazy for that

if i remember i'll take on donnington when i get back from the parents on monday

Just paid my junior fee for this and checked out a few tracks and cars. Not many cars are there? The track selection is excellent though and although things like monaco are completely unskinned or textured I had good fun going around it in the karts. Is there any way to turn off the 100% racing line and replace it with just braking start areas only? Not too sure what kind of project I've stumbled upon here but the graphics are great so far, especially at sunset. The formula one car is really easy to handle as it has identical handling to the codemasters 2012 game which I was playing the demo of until I got this.

somewhere in the options menu you can change the driving line. i dont know about braking only but you can certainly turn it off completely (what i have)

the car selection isnt too bad but there are plenty more cars in the queue. around 60 have been publicly announced so far and i think there are a couple more on the way

If you turn the driving line off completely, then you can use the darker (rubber) areas on the track surface to show the braking points/zones.

reaper could you please asked what they have changed handling wise i love the game but after this last patch i cant get the handling right

spent about ten hrs trying to get this right and it just wont have it :(

was perfect previous build now i just cant get it right.
