*******C.A.R.S - Community Assisted Race Sim*********

considering F1 2012 is a finished game and CARS is about a year away from being finished (and monza is far from the most complete track in pCARS) i don't think F1 2012 will be much of a threat in the graphics department

The other F1 tracks are looking good too, especially Spa, Catalunya and Suzuka. Monaco feels a little short to me in pCARS, you hit the harbour chicane almost as soon as you're out of the tunnel.

Things are progressing nicely in multiplayer:

First proper internal MP test happened this morning and went surprisingly well. We had around 10 players and there were no major issues. To put this in perspective though: I expected it to be a total shambles as a first test, so my expectations were low :) We found a number of good bugs that we'll fix before opening up the testing more, plus of course a lot simply isn't implemented yet, but it's a great start so well done so far online team!

Since the testing went quite well we now have a dedicated server running for all Senior Managers and Community Ambassadors to test. Do not expect anything great yet. Do not try to use anything except "change track" and "change vehicle" in the multiplayer setup UI. There might/will be some loading/roundtripping issues. But the basics will work and you can drive around with few other people if you agree on a time to test :)

pCARS is still very green in this circuit, but I have decided to make a comparative triple.

Andy has just announced that, if all goes well, multiplayer is being rolled out to the masses. Assuming the servers can cope every week they will give the next lowest tier of members access to multiplayer, starting with managers today:

Andy Garton said:
The reason for managers only added now btw is that load testing wise we need to phase things in, as we've done essentially no proper load testing yet. The rough plan is for seniors to be added next Friday, full members the week after, then team members. This is subject to change though depending on how the server/game holds up.

What settings are people using for the g25 wheel?

With the G25 and G27 the devs use:

Overall effects strength: 100%
Spring effects strength: 0%
Damper effects strength: 0%

Don't enable centre spring
Centre spring strength: 100%

Don't report combined pedals
Degrees of rotation: 900

and crucially
DO allow game to adjust settings

For the in game FFB adjustment the only thing I change is to reduce the tyre force to 75% since the most recent update, everything else I leave at default.

There is a way to alter every single aspect of the FFB that the game produces with special config files, but generally I leave those alone
