reaper could you please asked what they have changed handling wise i love the game but after this last patch i cant get the handling right

spent about ten hrs trying to get this right and it just wont have it :(

was perfect previous build now i just cant get it right.

if you're using a wheel then the new FFB could be the answer. that has had a big change recently and it really does make the cars feel different.

i think there are often changes to the default setup of the cars which could also be the cause of the problems you are having if it feels like only some cars have changed

physics wise i believe that little changes happen quite a lot but nothing that should make things vastly different. there will be a completely new tyre model in soonish so that should bring a big change for the PC players. personally i havent noticed an changes for ages in the car i drive the most, the caper stock car, so i doubt its a global change

i'll have a search of the forums to see if anything changed with the cars recently when i get back to uni on monday. i would do it today but this laptop is painfully slow

I haven't played for a few weeks but the physics feel totally different, am I imagining it? There seems to be more of that swivel oversteer that I hated so much from shift. Previously I've really enjoyed having a spin in a number of cars but I couldn't find one that I enjoyed this time.

*edit*
sorry, i got over excited. the new tyre model is available to devs, but it still needs additional datasets for some types of tyre before its ready to roll out to us. while that wont be long i dont think it will be in the next build

The new AI system thats being worked on sounds very promising:

Steve Dunn said:
The results (of the new AI code) are very promising with AI able to breeze past another car with great accuracy and efficiency, much more so than the current system

there is still a lot that needs to be done with the AI code so don't expect it in a build for a while yet, but this is definitely a good sign

can anyone tell me what they use for there f1 settings car wise ?

gearing and so on . just got my steering right now for tweaking.

Kevin has posted some very early WIP shots of the track reflections and they look absolutly stunning. When I say very early WIP i mean he has spent 1 day working on the track reflection code.

i wont post the pictures themselves because of how early WIP it is, but here's a link to the post with the pics in: http://forum.wmdportal.com/showthre...Weather-System&p=253498&viewfull=1#post253498

Darren has also been working on rain drops on the windscreen and the rest of the car and how the wipers affect them which looks to be coming along nicely

I've played more of Build 306 than any previous build, really starting to enjoy this now.

FFB and physics are still short of rfactor/GSC etc but it's getting a hell of a lot better and the graphics continues to impress.

I have no reason to buy into CM's FIFA model for F1 anymore.

the wet road preview pictures are all over the internet already so I guess posting them here can't hurt :)

Don't forget that these are super early WIP pics, with just over a day spent on coding the reflections. There's bound to be some rough edges that will get sorted eventually but even so they look stunning imo

Looking at those wet pictures, I can see this being the game that makes me upgrade my trusty 5770 crossfire... No way am I running this at anything other than full bells and whistles detail when it's released :)

its surprising just how far this came.. :o i was at nogrip forums when the devs from the studio were just sharing the idea in a forum post.. then it became a thread.. then a portal.. now a fully playable game :o that is not far of release either.. wow.

Steve Dunn has warned us to expect some pretty bad AI for a while in the next builds. I'm not exactly sure why but he has had to add the WIP AI code to the public builds WAY before it was finished but he said he had to so that he can continue working on it

He has said that the AI can drive along the racing line just fine and they can overtake, but there is no logic in the overtaking yet so they will quite happily try to overtake by driving through a wall, which will obviously end very badly.

by the sound of things it will be a short term pain for long term gain :)
