C2Q Q6600 "GO Stepping" now available at OcUK!

they should released g0 straight away idiots intel

Well that was a well thought out, considered response...

Those previous results look good. It seems that 3.7GHz is achievable with air cooling, even Orthos stable.

Well I have given up waiting I am sure I will be able to get 3.2Ghz out of the standard Q6600. I havent got the time to wait, maybe if I was told another week I would but not much feedback on here.

what nonsense you write, deliberate antagonism as usual, seen it many times from you before so won't rise to it.

Just for the record though,I've misinformed no-one and I really can't see where your desperation accusation comes from.

I was merely pointing out that for Quad clocking the choice of mobo is more crucial than cpu stepping,P35 chipset boards are an excellent Quad core base.

I'm not the one coming out with

The G0 is nothing more that a B3 cloaked in Intel marketing blurb!
Intel realise that you little suckers need to be brainwashed into a purchase, hence the G0 BS!

Nice factual post

Oh well we're all entitled to the odd outburst. I still believe being charged a premium for an unproven stepping is wrong.

Read the G0 stepping thread over at XS.

THERE IS PLENTY OF PROOF IN THERE

Unproven? Have you missed all the threads on various forums about how much better the G0 cores are overclocking and how cooler they run then?

Easy your caps lock key seems to have stuck half way through that post. Just a heads up.

And yes there is plenty of proof, the G0 stepping uses less power therefore will clock better as well as being cooler.

lol :D

Its all out there for us to research.

I'll be waiting or G0 as getting close to 4ghz on water would be fantastic.

It's amazing how a few good clocks create this unstoppable surge of belief, better or not, asking an extra tenner is greedy, soon this stepping will be common.

So you really believe that the G0 stepping is no different to the B3 stepping?

Yes it will be common, but if you're willing to wait a good few months untill G0 is everywhere then thats your choice. The rest of us want G0 asap.

The G0 stepping will run cooler thats obvious since its 95watts as opposed to 105watts.

The question is though, how much diffrence will this actually make? :)

If it is,I still don't believe OC'uk have a right to demand extra money for it,this is what angers me,greedy people taking advantage.

It may only be a tenner but it's going to net them a huge wodge and imo wrongfully.

there is only the extra 10 charge whilst the stock is not common, as there is extra work in sorting them out

im sure when they are then the price difference will disappear.
