Can a vegan diet make me strong. Let's find out.

LOL if you eat any type of dairy you're a hypocrite. Dairy is all man made processed food. This pizza is just a back up plan I usually don't have it with cheese on as I don't rate it myself, it's too greasy.

Fruits and veggies first, they're the best then starches. If I had my 30 banana smoothie today I wouldn't even crave or fit the pizzas in me.

Well why are the people in nursing homes there if eating meat turns you into superman? I just proved you don't need to eat meat. The vegan diet is special it's the only unique diet in the world because it's the only diet that doesn't contain animal products. The rest are the same diet.

Psymonkee - LOL Dr Atkins (RIP), Sally Falon, Robert Lustig, Lauren Conrad, what do all the low carb diet promoters have in common? They're all overweight cause they got high insulin and fat. What do all the high carb promoters have in common? Lean trim, regardless of fitness levels.

I don't eat dairy regularly. So just watch who you're calling a hypocrite, and I urge you not to raise the ante.

However, I do treat myself to cheese from time to time, and enjoy dairy on the odd occasion - so if that's me being a hypocrite - then fine. However it's the exception that makes the rule. It's a treat - something to enjoy life with. You know? Enjoyment? Life is too short to be too strict all the time - plus I don't compete, and I'm already fairly ripped, and pretty strong - I'm pretty happy with my fitness and health. Low LDL cholesterol, high HDL/LDL ratio, good thoracic capacity, low visceral fat - I can run a 5k in about 25mins without feeling too tired, oh and I can lift cars and stuff with my teeth (ok I exaggerate a little).

There are vegetarians and vegans in nursing homes because you know... people get old  People don't necessarily have anyone to care for them - diet doesn't stop you ageing. It's normal.

You didn't prove anything - other than the fact you know nothing of nutrition - especially if you think eating 30 bananas in one sitting is a good idea.

Okay

No one claims eating meat turns you in to superman. It's about what you do once you've consumed that food.

This is part of the fallacious argument that vegans and vegetarians are healthier than meat eaters because they don't eat meat.

The fallacy here is that a typical vegetarian should be more health conscious and know about nutrition to a better degree than an average meat eater (though you evidently don't yourself), because meat eating is considered a typical thing to do, so the cross section covers pretty much everyone.

A typical person who eats meat and lifts properly will typically be healthier than your typical vegan.

You're focusing on the eating of meat too much, you are talking about people who want to eat whatever they want without living an active lifestyle.

Additionally, a typical vegan is NOT trim or lean, if anything, they will be very skinny due to being malnourished, and have a low amount of muscle mass. It's pointless having low low bodyfat if your musculature looks like a load of loose elastic bands.

You are living in pretend land with the delusional stuff you're constantly coming out with.

This log would probably have worked if you didnt try and ram veganism down people's throats.

No one likes a preacher man telling them whats wrong and right.

It's all well and good having ideals in life and your welcome to live peacefully as a vegan, but it's the brain washing element which is the problem.

And the fact that he's full of ****.

i'm pretty much 75%+ vegan these days.

wife and her whole family are vegetarians and im lactose intolerant so have switched to soya, almond or hazelnut milk type drinks for when i have my oats.

i do still eat meat and have cheese but not that often, maybe like once or twice a week max. protein shakes i imagine is also off the menu for a vegan since they have whey which comes from the dairy industry? i have them when i do weights for recovery obviously.

i'm not a full convert to vegetarianism, but i have hugely reduced the amount of meat i eat and upped the vegetables.

tbh i feel the best i have ever felt, but i do still eat meat on the odd occasion. obviously it's easier just to cook one meal and with the wife being vegetarian, it's obviously going to be meat free for convenience.

i believe balance is best, full on veganism would just be far too much for me. i really do like pizza, mozzarella bagels, cheese toasties, etc. meat is also a preference when i go out to eat, can't beat a nando's chicken pitta or chicken katsu curry.

i like what your doing, but your nutritional knowledge is severely lacking.

nuts have good fat in them, in fact coconut oil which is basically oil (fat) from coconuts is the healthiest of all oils out there for cooking. ground nut oil is also brilliant for cooking.

the amount of banana's you eat imo is unhealthy, it's all about balance, you need to be eating a variety of vegetables, not just one type of fruit constantly, surely if your eating that many you must be cutting something else out of your diet?

last night i have quorn mince chilli, with kidney beans and sweetcorn, chillies, garlic and tomatoes spooned onto baked sweet potatoes. as a side i had tortilla and houmous with chillies and chickpeas in it.

look at the variety there.

tonight will be sweet potato, carrot and peas sabji (indian) with tortilla wraps cooked like chapatis with flavoured yogurt for dessert.

also imo vegetarian diet is a lot cheaper than eating meat whilst still being as nice to eat once you have experimented with it. the other night i made the best mushroom curry i have ever tasted, the only curry i can think of that would top it is king prawn and spinach.

i also think my metabolism has sped up with all the vegetarian food and cutting out dairy as much as possible either that or the increase in fibre has me going for a number 2 much more often.
