Canadian Grand Prix 2011, Circuit Gilles Villeneuve - Race 7/19

DRS was cheap today, and cost Schumi of a podium. However, what a race and what a season there is more goings on in one race these days than in past full seasons.

i dont get how people like DRS..

i dont mind kers its your choice where you use it but DRS is a joke it turns a driver whos crap at overtaking into a overtake master

Because the next lap around, the person who was passed can use it to have a go back, so it results in more passing on track, that is a good thing.

or they should scrap DRS and let them build more powerful kers units

Or a thought would be let them use either DRS or KERS at once, so you can either try to overtake using KERS or overtake using DRS.

That would give the other guy chance to defend with KERS.

DRS is necessary to keep public interest in the sport, without overtaking and excitement the sport dies.

What they need to do is find a way to allow cars to get close to each other and race wheel to wheel in a less artificial way, until that people I think DRS is a necessary evil.

Edit: I do think at times it was too easy for overtakes.

And continue to restrict dirty air,I still cant fathom the lack of press on how effective banning Double Diffuser is and that, the rules are so tight they arent going to replace. It has halved the following distance down from 1sec+ last year to 0.4-0.6secs this year.
That by far has had the biggest good impact this season.

.
It was a knee jerk reaction to the teams using Double Diffusers which they've banned anyway. It's just not needed, they can now follow closely as we have seen at every single race this season.

Because the next lap around, the person who was passed can use it to have a go back, so it results in more passing on track, that is a good thing.

But in the case of Canada today, The car that got passed by the other car with DRS had no chance cause they could just use it again when they got out of the chicane!

If you havent already watch the Senna movie crazy how close cars used to be a few years ago

Cry harder.

seriously, what? Why is it that whenever you post in a thread, it's like the special kids have been let out. It could have been a very serious incident. Sure it was funny in hindsight, but I can promise if that was you, your suit would have been filled with brown stains as your relaxed, previously invaded rectum, let go.

No you can't there was absolutely no defence against it.

So the implementation can be improved at this track? First time it has been used there so you'll afford the implementation some leeway this year?

Vettel kept Hamilton behind him in Spain despite DRS.

WOW what a race after the rain delay.

Congrats to Jenson what a fantastic drive. I was hoping for a different winner other than Vettel, couldn't be happier that it is was Jenson. His speed was outstanding at the end.

Lewis needs to learn a few lessons. He should listen to what Lauda said;
"What Hamilton did there goes beyond all boundaries," Lauda said during his commentary on RTL television. "He is completely mad."

Also I laughed at that poor marshal who decided to entertain us all. Glad he didn't get hit though.
