Canadian Grand Prix 2012, Montréal - Race 7/20

There isn't a long enough run from the start to the first corner for Alonso to make up 2 spots. So our only hope is that Lewis gets in front of Vettel to stop him running off into the distance.

Great lap from Vettel and a really good first 3. Hopefully should make an exciting race.

So Frank, last time I mentioned it you spat the dummy. Still think Jensons saturday performances won't be a hindrance to his championship ;)

Why does the positioning graphic down the side of the screen seem really sporadic in its existence?

Did JB set a time, or is he playing the silly saving tyres game?

I think he knows he won't get pole so is mixing it up with soft tyre instead of super soft. Hope he gets his mojo back soon.

Great lap by SV.

To be fair I think the biggest hindrance this weekend was loosing the whole of Friday due to car issues.

But not bothering to set a fast time in Q3 shows you that he didn't think he could do much better than 10th anyway.

Yeah I agree that was part of his problem this week, but it's a trend that is looking like the tail end of 2009 all over again. I still think had Hamilton been on the end of the same problems he would have still got in the top 5.

It worries me how much confidence he has to have with no problems to get any confidence.:(

I'm going to give myself lines.

Please don't let this race turn into a procession.

And so on and so forth.

He's always been like this though.

but you do have to wonder about McLaren though. 6 races in and they still can't fix his problems. The least they could have done is send him testing. Its as if their car setup decisions have to go through the same committee decision process as their strategy, meaning there is a 6 week delay on every minor adjustment.

F1 not trending on Twitter, I wonder why?

SKY

I couldn't care less whats trending on twitter, it's a news feed for the retarded ;) ;)

I looked at it once saw all the abbreviated short hand sentences and decided I would just read the websites and blogs and not care about all that hash tag ****.

Yeah it's frustrating, I'm really not sure they are the best team going forward for Lewis anymore. Is Whitmarsh really the man to lead Mclaren forward? He's had enough time and they haven't delivered a car.

Don't get me wrong I really like his interviews and he comes across as a top bloke, I just don't think he's delivered the goods considering the budget and resources??

Yeah, I agree. I don't think its unfair to expect much more from a team as big as McLaren.

Just look at Ferrari, dog to pole contender in 7 races, while in the same time McLaren have completely failed to even understand Buttons balance issues.

Edit: ^^ Beaten to it!

Hamilton is getting on fine with the car, seems to be Buttons inability to get to grip with the issues.

It's been that way all this year. It's pretty pants.

The App is pretty good, not perfect by any means... but it's chuffing expensive.

I would be all over it if it wasn't so expensive! It looks great.

Then perhaps the team should have sent him testing, rather than doing PR stuff.

Its as much the teams job to work with a driver to understand his issues as it is the drivers job to work on them himself. For 3 races now we have seen Button locking the front wheels after changing the brakes. Everyone can see there is something up there, but no progress seems to be being made. McLaren just seem very slow to react to problems.
