Well the AF and FPS is nice but I'm interested to see if there's anything new to be revealed about the sensor itself. Same MP count as the 70d but apparently it's rather different... Just wondering how different :\
Kinda wish they'd found a way to make the touchscreen available despite the extra weatherproofing etc but I guess it's a tough one to do if you're trying to make it durable.

I don't uses it a massive amount either on my 70d and yet I would definitely have it as a feature in a camera that I designed if I could.
I can only imagine the reason for not having it is due to difficulties in weatherproofing/toughening a swivelling touchscreen.
As for being excited, I'm not sure yet but I'll never turn down better AF! Going from my 650 to the 70d was about AF and FPS really and this would be another upgrade in that direction. A 1Dx would be nice but despite being single with no kids, buying a 1Dx and a 200-400 in the same year might be a bit over the top lol
Even if it is a baby 1DX i would doubt that price! Nearer £1300 - £1500 at launch seems more sensible for the top of the line crop. I hope they surprise us with something less than that though...Featurewise it looks a good replacement for the original, especially with f8 (centre point) focus. Price will be interesting, I'd guess £2.5k on launch.

Canonrumors quoted something like $1799 give or take $100 for US/Canada so if you translate that to £ then it'll probably be £1800 lol

Release prices are always higher so it'll come down a bit anyway. The release price for the 70d was £1079 body only. Also, that might be the price with a lens rather than body only.

If they improve the noise performance I'll happily sell my old 7D + wife to get one (she's very noisy as well

I heard it was being released with 400mm DO as an option. I also heard this is worse than both 100-400 and 400 f5.6

I'm not sure they'd have a £4-5k lens as a kit option
But there is a new 400mm DO mk2 lens being announced apparently so maybe that's what you saw? 
The original 7D was £1,700 and I doubt Canon will sell its successor for less at launch. Canon know how popular this body will be and will milk it accordingly, to think it will be closer to **D money is asking for disappointment.
But they cant price this up to the 6d territory? surely that's not a good stratagy?
The 6D is a totally different camera and market. The 7D crop sensor is titled towards sports and action - 10fps, 65 AF points and fast AF. The 6D is portrait, weddings and studio focused - slower fps, full frame, 9 AF points and a lower spec AF.
Therefore I think the 7D will be closer to £2k than £1.5k.
