Can't get 3600mhz ram work at 3600mhz on Ryzen 5600x

I went and checked that right away. When loading a profile (but not saving & booting) it shows me the XMP-defined clock frequency but not voltage. This happens with both profiles 1 & 2. The DRAM voltage menu item just says "Auto" with the current voltage displayed on its left side. I can still manually set it to 1,350V of course.

@hyperreal The DRAM voltage won't change but the vsoc and related voltages will (only when you run something like ZenTimings or Ryzen Master will you see it).

Take note of "VSOC (SV12)" section. Likely this isn't your issue but worth a shot. More than likely it is 1 bad stick which you can troubleshoot when you can.

Get some crucial ram and be done with it. You won't get the patriot ram to work at rated speeds.
Uh, that’s not a helpful comment.

Patriot makes good ram. Often, they use the same PCB and ram chips as Crucial which is Micron.

Dismissing a whole brand because of one product is like saying BMW make bad cars because of one of their bad models that you happened to purchase.

Id happily buy the Patriot Viper Steel 4400 as it’s Samsung B die that can run tight. It’s a heavily favoured ram kit and a favourite of Buildzoid.

What I ended up doing was activating XMP Profile 2, then manually setting the DRAM clock to 3200 and FCLK to 1600. Everything has been working fine for now. I'm still hesitant to try 3600 / 1800 but we'll see... I'm pretty sure it would work and the original failure was a problem with the BIOS.

Patriot may make good RAM, but this particular kit is terrible. I had my kit RMA'd just last week due to memory errors, clicking sounds, etc. switched to Crucial, problem solved.

It is a helpful comment because I had that exact same kit, wasted 3 weeks trying to get it to run at 3600c18 (advertised speed) and had no luck. Looking at this thread I also see no post indicating they succeeded where I failed.

This patriot kit does not use micron chips, it is an average at best hynix m die.

The 4400 b-die kit might be great! But he doesn't have that kit so how helpful if your comment?

Oh my word. Your mental gymnastics isn’t exactly a backflip but you are trying.

you said Patriot makes bad memory.

I said that isn’t helpful since they do have a model which is great Samsung B Die.

you said He dOeSNt hAvE ThAt kIt.

i knooooooooow he doesn’t have that kit.

I don’t care about that fact.

I care about the fact that you wrote off an entire brand because of this one kit which I never said was an amazing example of memory in the first place.

Does that make sense or do I need to dumb it down further?

Quote me where I said patriot makes bad ram. You're inventing stuff to be mad about.

Be careful dumbing yourself down any further, you might forget to breathe.
