Can't wait to get my ID card!!!

the only people I can see wanting them, our people who do a lot of travelling within Europe and want to use it instead of a passport as it will fit in a wallet.

But giving the goverment that much info and power is so dangerous.

With the government's track record for data security, I dislike the thouht of my fingerprints, mugshot, DNA and medical history ending up on a bus seat.

Yup, I don't trust our current government with my data.

Granted, they probably know all this information already, but I'm waiting for as long as possible before I get one.

She routinely is asked by people that they want id cards. Hmm just maybe it's people the private companies have 'hired', so they can get minted from contracts! I mean even a small slice of 5bn is pretty good, not to mention that the amout will probably go up to at least 10bn. We are talking about government estimates here, choose and book anyone?

I'm opposed to the idea because i can't see the point in them. I'm certainly not going to pay for one. If they're going to issue me one, fine, but i'm not paying for it.

She made it up, they need to make it look like they are not forcing it on people with the election coming up, but the Tory's are in and they will scrap it.

Nobody want's the contracts because a new government would axe the idea in a heartbeat.

What do you mean giving the Govt that much info?

It will appear free to view in railways and any other place civil servants or contractor's employees leave it. ;)

According to their website the ID cards will cost £30 or less. Somehow I doubt it.

I still have no intention of buying one. Why should I. I have a passport and driving license that says and shows who I am. Unless they get me by the short and curlys im not buying something else to stick in my wallet for no reason.

Seriously. How ruddy long till were all tagged as well!

The overall cost of the ID card scheme over the next 10 years has risen by £50m to £5.1bn in the past six months, according to the government's latest cost report.

What a staggering waste of our money.

Labour can go **** themselves if they think I'm going to roll over on this.

So much for governments being afraid of the people, eh?

To be honest, on this issue alone I can't wait to vote them out.
