For once I agree with Keane, Rooneys best game was his first against Turkey. That shows how much effort he puts in for England. Once he name was made he's half the player for England he is for United. Now it's all this Wag ****.

Quite why clubs don't ban their **** wits from twitter to save themselves embarrassment. I don't expect it will be long before clubs catch up with this new media and gag the players.

Remember his rant at the end of one of those gutless games I cant remember which it was that **** at WC 2010 :D

Yeah, Rooney has had run ins with people on twitter about football rivalry, to be fair footballers are just lucky chavs that made it. No class, like Barton, now he is quoting profound people on twitter etc.

Have a word mate, you did time, you brother is doing time

Rooney is over-rated though and average at best.

If that's the case then why do people expect so much from him? I certainly wouldn't blame an entire nations failure at International football on one average at best footballer. What are all the others? They must be utter garbage then?

Roy Keane started it?

Given you replied to cheets with Roy Keane's opinion when he'd already brought up Rooney you fail

don't forget oxlade-chamberlain (sp?) i'd much rather give them all a shot at the euro's than our usual first 11 be balls to the wall but hey, atleast it'd be entertaining!

Yep a glaring oversight by myself, he's quite arguably got the biggest potential of the lot.

rooney started it to be fair. by opening his mouth without using a brain.

lol wut?

He gave an opinion just like Wilshire did, just like Owen did, just like Walker did. Did they tweet their opinions/open their mouths without using a brain as well?

EDIT: cheets talking about people with a lack of class is irony at it's best :o

I dont see any reason why England couldn't win the WC in 2 years time, think about the players that will be available and more experienced then; Hart, Walker, Smalling, Jones, Kelly, Rodwell, Cleverley, Wilshire, Welbeck and you'll still have the likes of Rooney there as well. It's those players which is why there's so much optimism around England post Euro 2012.

Personally I cant see your scenario occurring, even if Pearce does well I dont think anyone long term would want him to stay on in anything other than a number 2 role, likewise I cant see Arry having too much trouble qualifying England for the WC.

The first remark was tongue in cheek, although I can't see us winning the WC in 2 years time.

And I can't see your scenario where Redknapp is deemed a failure if England don't do well at the euros so we'll have to agree to disagree.

The issue with Rooney is that he can't handle the expectation of having to carry an entire team of fairly average players. There are very few people who can handle that without issue.

He who was also talking about the next manager, so it's all related. Jesus.

Well then if that's justification to start the usual boring debate that he's average then I'll concur with the usual boring defending him routine then, seems fair.

'arry should be able to do the job along side Spurs. Not exactly a full time job being England manager.

Hope he doesn't go to England though, Moyes will probably be snapped up by Spurs!

Yup, I have no idea why, either we need to pay a manager so much to manage England when it is nothing more than a VERY part time job. Redknapp by and large as an england manager will need to watch the England players play...... as a Spurs manager, he does that anyway. When international duty is on, most of the Spurs team is away on duty so Redknapp isn't required anyway, there is just nothing that makes the jobs difficult to do side by side.

Honestly, give him 1mil a year, say, serve your country basically, (and offer him 500k more in an offshore account somewhere :p ) and tell him to do the job part time.

What angered me more than how crap Erikson/capello/McClown were, was the truly ridiculous money we threw at completely inexperienced international managers. I wouldn't have paid the ex Spain/France/German managers who had WON World cups 6mil a year for a part time managers job, let alone guys who hadn't won World cup's. Give Redknapp 1mil a year, and IF he wins a cup he gets a huge bonus.

For the record I don't think Redknapp is the guy to go for myself, we SHOULD pick up someone with a track record in international competitions, but if they go Redknapp they should do what i said above.

Yet only one person commented on him being average didn't they? And you're not picking up on his posts, only mine.

That's not true is it. I replied to both Locky & andy's posts. I suspect though that the only thing both have to offer the thread though are those singular statements.

Basically you're the only one who's replying to me :( :p

It's a scathing indictment of the lack of quality in England that when the FA say they want an Englishman in charge of the national team there's only one man that's even arguably up to the job (lets face it if you were compiling a list of who's the best manager's in the PL I'd be surprised if Redknapp made many people's top 3)

I had a look and even the likes of Brendan Rodgers & Paul Lambert aren't English!!
