I'd say this is where City screwed up with Dzeko, that guy scores, provides assists and was consistent. Even if he wasn't started in 10 games he could come in and get a crucial goal. Sub/rotation players who can maintain form without playing much are worth their weight in gold. Chambers looks currently (which is pretty young and inexperienced and could change) doesn't look like a good rotation player.

I always felt for Dzeko. Not sure what he had to do to make City happy... he came on and scored in some pretty big games for them. Apparently doing pretty well at Roma.

Maybe they do regret getting rid of him. Aguerro isn't exactly scoring for fun atm (he seems pretty inconsistent lately).

Wenger's remarks on the kids not being ready for this level are pretty awful. First he picked those players when they clearly don't look ready then rounded on them after a loss. Chambers he spent 16mil on and has been an embarrassment this season... but instead of blaming an older and more experienced Chambers which would be blaming himself as well, he blames it on the kids who he picked to play.

How many senior players Wenger overpaid for were dire tonight, but he picks on the kids. Where was Zelalem, honestly I don't know. He looked not Fabregas in his first year at Arsenal good in preseason LAST year, but he showed the same promise did Wilshere did in preseason a few years earlier. A decade ago that would have meant Zelalem getting maybe 15 games in the season, 5 starts 10 sub appearances, few in the league mostly in the cup and CL if we had already qualified. Instead he got on the bench, was barely seen and is then gets shipped off to Rangers. Not as bad as some loans we do but he'd still be better off getting real game time at Arsenal and he should be playing the games like tonight.

Seriously Wenger's attitude these days appears to be, if you can't perform like Fabregas in the first 2 appearances I give you in your first season we'll loan you out and you'll probably never play for Arsenal again. Tried to get rid of Coquelin ffs. How can kids come in when after years they realise Wenger is going to give them one tiny little opportunity. Vela scored a hat-trick, against a Sheffield team as it happens, and got dropped. How on earth do you help youngsters confidence with the idea that even a hat-trick isn't going to be enough to make Wenger give you a real chance.

Our entire youth setup is awful and Wenger's treatment/handling of the young players has been abysmal for a decade now.

To be entirely fair he may well have asked to leave to get first team football and the club being incredibly grateful for his part in the titles were happy to help him out. It's tough when a striker is top class but unfortunately there is someone even better ahead of them. He both deserves first team football but was incredibly important as a back up.

From what we've seen, Bony doesn't really look like a good sub, he looks like a player who needs to be on the pitch almost every minute of every game to be in form. Gomis looks much the same, he's massively improved since Bony left, he looked pretty crappy when coming on as a sub and without consistent game time.

Dzeko was completely under rated here, even by City fans I think, just because his goals per season wasn't phenomenal, when factoring in starts/minutes on the pitch and the importance of a lot of his goals his stats look pretty brilliant.

Fantastic night. Hillsborough was bouncing, incredible atmosphere :).

Thought, on paper, the Arsenal side starting the match was good enough. I thought Wenger made a mistake (lack of respect, over confidence, too much faith with children) in not having a stronger bench. However Arsenal were never in the game, they enjoyed a lot of possession across their defence but offered almost nothing.

Sheffield Wednesday were excellent, should have scored more goals, three - nil was not a flattering result at all.

So will the Manchester sides be next to tumble out ? :p

At least LVG won't be fielding a div 3 side like Wenger did ;)

Third game in under a week, Chelsea over the weekend and a large injury list. It's exactly the team I expected bar Clyne who I thought would be rested.

Edit: Also slightly surprised Firmino is starting but he needs game time.

Depending how game goes I doubt klopp will play him the entire game.
