Capital One Cup Quarter-Final ** Spoilers ** [16th -17th December 2014]

Looking at that it looks like Remy's fouled the defender first and that even if you ignored that, with the keeper being so close it's hard to argue it was a clear and obvious goal scoring opportunity.

I change my mind every time I see it. Initial reaction was the keeper was getting it, then later I thought Remy got close enough to suggest that if he wasn't impeded he might have scored.

I think it was a goal scoring opportunity, whether it was clear and obvious or not I'm unsure. One further factor to consider is because the keeper comes sliding out of his box he'd have to release the ball anyway potentially increasing the chance of a goal (i.e. ball dropped on edge of box, striker in the vicinity, keeper well out of his goal).

Another brilliant cup win against top opposition. Like I said in a similar thread a while ago; I hope this now translates into a decent run of form in the league. We're too good a club to be continually stuck in the third tier, it's ridiculous.

And to think.. I nearly didn't go! My head hurts at work today though :(

Johnson's been ruled out for a month so won't be playing tonight. Not sure how he's managed to get in the team given his performances recently but it'll hopefully give Manquillo more time to adapt and improve.

*Waits for Rodgers to pick Mignolet at right back.

Sadly the leaked teams suggests that'll be the case :(

Jones
Kolo Lovren Skrtel
Hendo Gerrard Lucas Moreno
Coutinho Sterling Lallana

Sakho, Can and Markovic might as well leave in January along with Borini.

he really doesnt like picking the "Committee" signings does he

This is half our problem. We'll never know if some of these guys are any good because Rodgers won't pick them.

It was the same last season - the amount of times last season the same players were playing 90 mins after 90 mins when we were 3 or 4 goals up because he simply refused to play Alberto or Aspas. Granted Aspas looked useless but Alberto looked half decent whenever he got a few minutes.

Unless someone from within the club, or someone who's been heavily involved with the club, actually tells us how the transfer policy works we'll never know what's going on but from the outside it would appear that the transfer committee are undermining Rodgers and Rodgers is undermining the transfer committee.

Edit: Finally appears Sterling's sorted out his head and and will be back to his flying best tonight. One positive at least.

my problem with that lineup is that he has gone all Hodgepodge on Mignolet but is still playing quite possibly the worst CB we've had since Ruddock, just because its his signing. No striker again? We arent Germany, we cant afford to play with out a striker

tbf, his (or what appear to be his signings) are terrible. He is a lousy judge of player.

Lovren starting again?! Strange!
