Captain Marvel (2019)

Just seen the photos from the London Premier -

Samuel L Jackson - Smiling and looks happy to be there

Jude Law - Smiling and looks happy to be there

Brie Larson - Hmmmmmmmmmm, maybe she thinks she's not allowed to smile on the red carpet as she does smile and seem to have fun with the fans in other pics

To be fair I'm sure that there will be plenty of pics of her smiling/happy at the event, it's just the vast majority published so far just show the same "bland" expression which, it must be said, seems to be a conscious decision to make.

That just shows it is all carefully edited by people, like your post is written with an angle.

So, can we just drop it and enjoy the movie?

Because in the same minute there are photos of her not smiling too.

I can see this going the same way

nah, i don't see this as a ghostbusters situation - that film was garbage and went out out their way to insult the fans.
Marvel know what they are doing and imo haven't made a bad film yet - some average ones yes, but not bad.

The star is just a bit vocal, thats all.

I’m not sure who those two are other than social media types? I’m interested in what people say in this thread, and what I think myself, over anyone invited to a premier.

You mean that you don't know who they are? The renowned actress from Super Brainy Zombies and the surefire classic Living Room Shootout?

or the much celebrated actor from Freaky Mouth Pizza and the mouthwatering Oscars Hotel for Fantastical Creatures !?

4.4/10 on meta critic and 44% on RT for 200,000+ user reviews, that doesn't say publicly well received to me.

I'd rather watch the Star Wars prequels over TLJ.

Anyway, we're getting off topic and derailing the thread.

You're mistaking the angry "fans" for the opinion of the public; a serious problem with these sites. If you look at properly conducted polling instead of sites subject to review bombing by angry "fans", it's extremely positive.

Lol, TLJ is the worst film I've ever watched in the cinema. Even my sister, who's only seen the originals and TPM and thought the originals were merely decent and TPM was *****, thought TLJ was one of the worst films she's seen and you can hardly call her an angry "fan" or misogynist.

Someone who thinks the original SW trilogy is just passable rates TLJ as crap? That seems about right, to be honest.

I didn't think TLJ was great, but I don't particularly think the original trilogy is much more than very good kids' films. I did enjoy TFA, though - possibly because of the experience of watching it with my son, who was 6 at the time and well into SW.

As for Captain Marvel, I'm tempted to take my daughter (age 5.5) to see it - female superhero will appeal, certainly she was pretty blown away by the display of it they had up at the cinema when we went a few weeks ago. I've not actually watched any MCU movies, so am not into it myself.

Folks, we're getting way off topic here - Suffice to say I don't have a lot of love for The Last Jedi, but it's better than any of the prequels which are absolute dirge.

To be honest, I'm much more of a Marvel fan than a Star Wars fan these days...

If somebody told me that I was only allowed to watch 'Avengers: End Game' or 'Star Wars: Episode IX' (not both) I would opt for Avengers: End Game without blinking.
