Car insurance

Unfortunatley you just have to put up with it 'till you're 25.
The insurance on my Mazda RX8 went from £1100 @ 24 years old to £800 @ 25.

Don't forget the usual tricks:
  • Get an Admiral Multicar policy with your parents.
  • Add an older driver (parent/guardian/whatevs) as a named driver.
  • Don't crash.

Think I paid around that for my rx8 a few years back ('05)

Why should women pay the same as men when they don't cost insurance companies as much? If you were insurer you're telling me you wouldn't charge your male customers more even though they cost you more? Heck, I would! As a young male driver myself I think this equality thing is turd. Personally I think it's more unfair your risk is calculated by your post code, although I can understand the reasons behind this as well.

As others have said, suck it up or don't drive!

Just to play devils advocate mind, where do you draw the line with this ? If fat people are more prone to accidents does that mean they should pay more ? What about gays ? or Gingers, or short people, or working class, or Millwall supporters ? etc etc

Because it's fair for all. The males who don't have an accident are treated fairly like they should. The ones that do get charged more the next time around. It's your choice however to live in a certain post code area, if you don't like it; move. Insurance is essential for driving, so just because their a business, they should still abide by the discrimination acts.

in same sense that its your choice to drive, if you cant afford to run the insurance, regardless of how its generated, you shouldnt dont drive or drive something that you can afford to insure?

unless you job is a delivery driver etc theres other ways to get to work(public transport/lift share with someone who can afford it) discrimination acts have been abided to for most insurance companies, so they not going to change how they rate upon details. they are clever enough to make sure that all their rates are supported by the figures they get released

Because moving house is easy right? I just cant imagine why everyone dosent live in leafy Surrey.

well, tbh, i can understand why its so much for boys ect, but i think there needs to be a change in the way the system works, i think soon as you have a crash/speeding ticket, it then go's up by 1000 pounds, but if you drive carefully then the cost should be low (around 800 quid). that way boys will be prevented to do crazy things like speeding and street racing, but if they do race or what everk, they will have 2nd thoughts.

just my view.

I watched an interview with the head of some insurance firm, and he said male premiums would drop slightly, and ladies would shoot up faster than you can say 'justice'.

Why is it david camerons fault insurance is high? surely it was high for males when labour were in, BLOODY GORDON BROWN!!
