Carabao Cup 4th Round Football Thread ** spoilers ** [29th - 30th October 2024]

Ugarte looked really good at what he is supposed to be doing. Winning the ball back and harrying the opposition. He hasn't got much of a pass on him but he doesn't need that. Thats something we have lacked. Someone who makes the opposition think and act quickly instead of giving them time to pick passes and drive at us.

Hes only just settling in at United and hasn't had that much game time and lets be fair, our midfield is porous to say the least. I think if we get Amorim he will be a very useful player.
Sorry if my post came across as negative on him. I was encouraged with what I saw and I can see the potential but he looks a bit like Casemiro did when he first came and took at least a couple of months to get to the pace of the games. He was very slow to get up after being outmuscled in our box and looked like he was knackered and a bit overpowered.
Mazraoui is a player I am really quite impressed by. He seems a versatile footballer and one that's a bit smarter than Dalot.

Mazraoui looks quality to me. Just a top top player. The sort of player who wouldn't look out of place at any of the really top teams in Europe.

One of the top teams in Europe didn't think he was good enough and flogged him, so yeah (and you think Liverpool fans over rate their players..)

To be fair, a club selling a player isn't always synonymous with a player being bad. Chelsea sold both Salah and De Bruyne. I'm not saying Mazraoui will be a success like they have been, players can play better and/or become better players after being moved on, Gnabry is another who wasn't great at Arsenal but has had incredible patches at BM.

Remember when Bayern sold Kroos and he was utter **** for the rest of his career?
lol, Kroos went from Bayern (one of the best teams in Europe) to Real Madrid (another one of the best teams in Europe), Mazraoui has gone from Bayern (one of the best teams in Europe) to you guys (definitely not one of the best teams in Europe) - the comparisons to Salah and de Byrne are also not accurate, they were both 22/23 and clearly no where near hitting their potential when they moved from Chelsea, Mazraoui is 26.

Not good enough for West Brom though

Longstaff got his best rating for some time on the BBC vote. He's usually averaging less than 3.
Sandro was superb as the 6. Hopefully we see some sort of formation with him as the deep holder and Bruno pushed further up the pitch at the weekend.

Might be able to hold onto the ball better in the opposition half. With him being the more Athletic and quicker Might mean we won’t be so easy to play though straight up the middle of the pitch.

Kelly over Burn? Yes please his pace will also help with gaps left by the midfield.

You're twisting things to suit your agenda, which isn't a surprise considering you're a Liverpool fan trying to throw shade at Manchester United.

To quote what you said regarding the clubs they left and signed for, they both left Chelsea and went to inarguably lesser prestigious teams in Roma and Wolfsburg. De Bruyne literally joined City 18 months later, it wasn't like it took him a multiple years at Wolfsburg to hit his potential.

Kroos is the bad example because he pushed for the move by not agreeing to a new contract at BM.
