Carling Cup and PL ganes, 14th to 20th *SPOILERS*

Yet another game this season decided on the back of another disgusting refereeing display. How on earth was Bellamy not booked during that game?

That aside, we played well enough in parts of the game to score more. Despite the possession we had, I can't count many clear cut goal scoring opportunities, that changed of course when we put Owen on creating more space for Rooney. Fergie really is wasting Rooney with 4-5-1. I'm sick to death of seeing us play this formation more frequently. Neville will get a slap on the wrist and a fine, what will Tevez be getting for his goal celebrations?

Defensively the sooner we have a fit Vidic back the better, how Tevez practically won every single header in the air shocks me considering he is so small. Can't wait to see how they fare at Old Trafford.

of course he would have been.

you dont watch a player sell for 11 million, then decide 2 years after their sell by date that you need this player no matter what cost, only to get ripped by another 19 million.

tevez at 24 or 25 years old or whatever was always a better buy than berbatov.

Since when was it ever an either or situation when it came to buying Berbatov and Tevez?

Tevez was brought in a year before Berbatov and the eventual decision as to whether or not to make the load permanent came a year after Berbatov came in.

That aside after scoring 20 a season for Spurs no one was questioning who was the better of the two back then.

id say at that exact point in time you mention.. we had tevez for 1 year, we knew what he could do, we had a choice with a future view whether we would keep him, or buy berba knowing we wouldnt extent tevez's loan.

Do you really think that we would have had a 90 million strike force? buying berbatov meant we were never going to keep tevez it was obvious.

its not a question of who is better, but who is the better investment. Clearly age and re-saleability+workrate indicate that Tevez was the better option.

Praying we get a nice early goal tonight to settle the nerves, 2-0 will be hard to throw away at home.

Made it difficult enough last time we got to the final, lost 3-1 away at Tranmere in the semi-final, won 3-1 at home in the return leg scoring our 3rd in the 88th minute, went to penalties, had to score our 5th to win, missed, bosnich had to save twice to keep us in it and we won.

Just make it easy tonight, please!

Actually, I'm wrong.. that was 93/94 :p

Kuyt upfront on his own :(

Never worked before, never work tonight. Another awful decision.

An attacking midfield of a player who's just back from injury, a player who's adjusting to the Premiership after a length injury and Degen...

We beat Newcastle 5-1 with Kuyt up front on his own :p

And who'd you rather play in midfield instead of Aquilani, Degen and Riera? Babel?

The only thing I'd have liked to see would have been Maxi in on the right but it appears as if he's still not fit enough, and tbf to him, Degen done ok vs Stoke.

We've probably beaten other teams as well but he can't play as a lone front man. He always drops deep and gets in the way of the attacking midfielder behind him and doesn't have the pace to get in the box for crosses so playing him is essentially nullifying all three attackers behind him.

I know we haven't got anyone else to play but it doesn't really inspire confidence when you see those three in the team for various reasons.

I hope we put Lucas further forwards and Aquilani back with Masch to be honest; Lucas looks like a good player when he gets the chance to bomb on. Glad Aquilani is starting though :)

Not happy with Kuyt up top, but really don't know who else we would put there. I'd almost be tempted to give Babel a run in the position which he consistently says he wants to play in (leading the line).

Don't like Degen at right back either - he looks good going forwards, but I don't think that he has ever heard of defending positionally. Can't wait until Kelly's fit again!

EDIT: Being a tit, Degen is at right wing - could be worse I guess!

No, I've posted lot in the gym rats and BB pics threads. There's no need to 'troll' in there, as you don't have bucket loads of Man U fans bleating about the very injustices that they inflict on other teams week in week out. You're just another that thinks that any expression of what a hypocritical joke Man U / Ferguson are, can be conveniently branded as trolling, whereas it is in fact statement of fact.

And I do care about the quality of the football, for example I've already stated that Tevez had a fantastic work ethic in last night's game. Shame you failed to read that before coming out with your tired 'troll' cliché.

Serious answer.

I'm not branding you a troll for no reason or because you expressed an opinion. It's not what you say, it's the way you say it. I see other posters that enjoy to see Manchester United lose quite regularly on here, but they present themselves with a little more decorum and a little less incite/animosity.

I could come up with some examples in non-football threads from around SA of you being a knob I can't be bothered though.
