Carling Cup Football. Yes, Spoilers...

I am thinking Liverpool will avenge the league defeat tonight and knock us out of the Cup. Personally I wouldn't mind too much if they did so as it would allow us to focus on the league position.

Looks like Harry is giving fringe players the chance to play and show what they can do. Seems we will be resting most players and giving chances to the youngsters like Bostock aswell as players like Rocha, Taarabat, Boateng, etc.

Personally I'd rather we played full strength as it's our best chance of Europe again next season.

I dont think we will. Spurs looking strong at the moment. Liverpool will be changing a lot of players. Think it will be extremely close. Prediction 3-2 to Liverpool, Torres hat-trick :)

Gomes had better watch out then, as when Rocha played last season he seemed to like trying to take out Robinson :)

Surprised this hasn't been posted yet...

Liverpool Starting 11: Cavalieri, Degen, Agger, Hyypia, Dossena, El Zhar, Lucas, Plessis, Babel, Ngog, Torres

Subs: Gulacsi, Riera, Darby, Insua, Benayoun, Carragher

Spurs have Huddlestone and Zokora in the middle

didnt work out too great last time Ramos tried it

i predict a Liverpool win now :(

Torres destroyed Spurs last season at White Hart Lane and I expect him to do the same tonight.

Tottenham: Gomes, Hutton, Dawson, Corluka, Bale, Lennon, Zokora, Huddlestone, O'Hara, Pavlyuchenko, Campbell. Subs: Cesar, Bentley, Bent, Modric, Gunter, Boateng, Rocha.

Looks like 4-4-2.

You can't really claim Rosicky is still our first choice left mid though, can you? Even if he ever got fit again, he's been out so long, he wouldn't be guaranteed a start for some time I'd have thought. Especially now we've actually signed a direct replacement in Nasri.

We played our first choice XI against Porto.

My first choice team would have both Nasri and Rosicky in it; in any event, it wouldn't feature Denilson who started against Porto.

By all means feel free to pick any competitive fixture from the the past couple of years and I'll see if the first XI meets with my approval or whether there is any one player I believe should have been in the starting eleven if he hadn't of been injured/suspended/on international duty :)

Seems a pretty strong-ish side tonight we have put out, though agree with the Huddlestone/Zokora combo, i think they are both a bit too defence-minded.

2-0 good i hope we win this still a long way to go

what i like most is we dont have a full strength team out so people cant really talk
