Carling Cup Quarter Final Games - **Spoilers**

Well I don't know about you Arsenal fans but I found that quite entertaining. Chamberlain looks like he's going to be bloody handy, if Frimpong ever gets some skill to go with that enthusiasm he could be great in the middle too :p In all seriousness I thought he did a great job of stopping play through the middle, as, though not as well, De Jong did for us. I thought you were sharper in the final third, looked a bit more up for it, forced some fantastic saves from Pantilimon (the first one from Park, oof, thought Hart was in goal!), still could have equalised right at the end with that fantastic ball across the face.

In the end it was one exceptional counter attack that separated it, which I think given some of the players we had out there, that's a bloody good nights work. Kos looked great.

Oh and what is the point of Nasri? Really? I'm not surprised, he's playing just like I thought he would, but he's even impressing me just how like Adam Johnson he is. Occasional moments of flare padded out by lots of disappearing acts and generally being ineffective.

Oh, Dzeko was immense. Wanted to win it all on his own ALL Game, pretty much eventually did, well in lad.

I think Arseblog summed it up, lot of promise from some of the players tonight, good performance, all undone by a good goal from a world class striker. Such is football.

Also,
Told there's been a fight in the tunnel. Nasri threw a punch at Frimpong then ran off into the away dressing room.

Look forward to reading his Twitter later, lol.

chamack is useless and park none existance :( that was our issue :( we created enough chances to win this match but we couldnt score.

hate Nasri so good to see he was kept at bay tonight. frimpong was immense but chambalin was MOTM for me.

Lucas was so boss yet again, been our most consistant (and to a high standard) performer since last season.

Hope the injury's nothing serious :(

Bellamy was amazing too, what could have been had he played vs City :(

The more Kelly got forward the more Henderson came inside. Looks a completely different player when he's roaming rather than confined to the right.

I'll be ****** off if Kenny drops either of Maxi and Bellamy after their last few performances. They've both earned positions in the starting 11 now.

They both deserve to be starting but the problem they've (well Maxi's) got is that you have to play both of them together imo, which will limit their chances. I don't think you could play Maxi with Kuyt because you'd lack pace and I don't think you could play him with Downing either because you're then lacking somebody that can interchange with the central striker.

I've said before though, I get the impression that the club wouldn't mind Maxi leaving and that may influence the team selection.

edit: Chelsea will probably buy Maxi in January anyway :p

Very boring game, both teams were pretty crap tbh massive result for City though after losing to Napoli and drawing (and being rubbish) against Liverpool. Unfortunately with Norwich at the weekend they now have a chance to put in back to back wins again which will put them in good stead for the Chelsea game who I cant believe have lost again at home again and against Liverpool again  :o

Just said on SS that City had a team worth £125m on the pitch.... embarrassing considering Arsenal's team worth about £14.50 pushed them so hard.

1 shot on target, win 1-0. That's what a world class striker does for you and Mancini played 2. Wenger if you had just played RvP in the form he is in then you would more than likely have won this and be in a semi-final. Enjoy yet another season without silverware :)

Sky really need to stop giving Ray Wilkins Chelsea games

Stop giving Alan Smith Arsenal games while they're at it as well

What can I say, Arsenal ran us all over the pitch. AOC was great. Looks like a much better Walcott!
Ë
Costel take a bow, some great saves tonight. I think we will sign him at end of season.

Nedum, Kolo, Dzeko and Costel the only players impressed imo.

Not a great performance but we got the win with a bit of class. Roll on the weekend :D

Watching the highlights of our game; he made the right decision but I'm not sure how Dowd gave us our pen. He initially didn't give it and there was no way the lino could have seen anything to award it either

And I'm not sure how he booked their LB when Lukaku nearly broke Henderson's leg either. The Luiz dive aside, Dowd had a fairly shocking game tbf.

Carroll put forth an eloquent well constructed argument to which after due consideration he agreed? Maybe he just threatened to nut him.
