Carling Cup Quarter Final Games - **Spoilers**

It was a joke mate. jesus. u wanna tallk stats. Your beloved city team cost 125m in the squad you played arsenals squad most likely cost half of that if not less

I'd also disagree that our squad out there cost £125, because Nasri cost £20m and if he was anywhere on that pitch then I'm Jesus.

You went tonight? Must've been the only Chelsea fan there. All I could hear was our supporters

Our rendition of the timeless classic 'Where's your plastic flags' being the highlight :)

I was there as well and I only heard your lot a few times. Funny what they pick up on TV mics. They made a bit of noise after the goals and at the end of the game and that was it. The support from our lot was a bit muted as the home defeats are taking their toll.

It's good you showed your face despite the beating you took :p

There's another Chelsea fan that was confident of a Chelsea win (he was last week too) that's not showed ;)

I wonder who that could be? There are better things to do than post after an evening game like going to bed. :p

A really lack lustre performance from almost a second eleven. It was very disappointing. I did hope we would better than that. We appear to have taken to playing sideways instead of forward. At the end of the day that game really doesn’t matter at all in the scheme of things. Our season will make or break with the next three games, Newcastle, Valencia and Man City. I suspect the goodwill towards AVB will start to crumble if we don’t fare very well. I still remain quietly confident.

lol what is Kean on? What a pathetic man, if they didn't care about going through why didn't he field a side of reserve or academy players?! What a ****!

Have to say even though we lost last night to City, im looking forward to seeing Chamberlain get more chances to play...was pretty damn impressive and had the City goalkeeper make a good save at one point.

Lets hope Wenger nurtures him and turns him into an immense player...he could very well be our answer to RVP with some of the skill he showed last night.

Very impressive I thought. Zab looked like he was enjoying the challenge and whilst he isn't world class he's not exactly inexperienced. Just a question of whether he'll get enough chances at Arsenal to properly grow from now on (they did mention in the commentary he could be the reason for Walcotts upturn in form), or whether you'll send him out on loan (maybe Bolton could do with the help?).

On paper the future of Arsenal looks very good with a midfield 3 of Ramsey, Wilshire & Fringpong with Walcott and Chamberlain on the wings. Of course Wenger will still fail to address the defence and most of them will eventually leave for Arsenal mrk II (Man City) :p

For the record he may of been the sole reason City got a point that day but they were never in a position to actually win the game.

On Bellamy though he's certainly showing signs of the form he had 2 seasons ago, it's somewhat surprising he didn't tear the championship apart last season... I would say it's probably due to his heart not really being in it during his spell at Cardiff but I would think that's obviously considering prior to leaving Cardiff he went on TV saying he wouldn't leave them until they were in the Premiership.... that was a few months before proceeding to leave them and sign for Liverpool :o

City fans wont give him the credit but Mark Hughes should take a lot of credit for Bellamy's up turn in form, pretty sure it was under Hughes that Bellamy worked wonders for Blackburn also

To be honest from interviews with Bellamy and his general attitude of always 100% and playing hard till he quits I doubt his heart wasn't in it last year, but didn't see enough of Cardiff to see why he maybe didn't tear the league up as expected.

Judging by the wiki on his season at Cardiff he did pretty well, its just, no one gives a cack about the championship and it really isn't well covered in the news no matter how well anyone is doing. 11 goals is the second highest he's scored in the past over the past 12-13 seasons it would seem.

As for Hughes, not sure I agree. Bellamy did very well under Hughes, but he did excellently at Newcastle and Liverpool, and West Ham. Just Souness seemed to hate him, LIverpool needed cash and actually West Ham played really really well with him but he had a very injury plagued time with them.

The only difference with Hughes was, at Blackburn he wasn't randomly benching Bellamy so got full use out of him, and again at City he just had gotten over his injury problems at that point and got a chance to show what he can really do with a growing team.

Great song from last night, "Van Persie is ours, Van Persie is ours! You are our feeder club, Van Persie is ours!" :D

FTR: I loved Bellamy. I honestly wish he was still at City.

Thats what i said 5-6 yrs ago that our future looks good and we should be winning trophies in the next couple of yrs...fat chance that happened as Wenger systematically destroyed our tough defence ie not replacing the out going defenders with the same type of players. Although im still a bit wary about our defence but having Verminator back and Koscielny now becoming a decent defender, its looking a little bit better...im kinda hoping that Wenger buys Cahill to replace the big lumbering German that is Mertesacker but i doubt it tbh.

Looks like Lucas is out for the rest of the season :(

Nothing confirmed yet but a journo tweeted earlier today that Lucas told him that he fears he'll be out for 6 months (this was pre-scan) and a lad on RAWK that regularly gets team news early has just said that he's had his scan and he'll be out for 6-9 months.

Hopefully the reports are wrong but I suspect they're right and it'll be a huge blow. He's gradually developed into a top class player over the last 2 to 3 seasons.

I would say Lucas' rise to first team regular has coincided with Liverpool's fall from grace over the past two seasons.

I agree that at Newcastle Bellamy was developing into a very good player especially under Sir Bob, but there's no denying he went into a bit of a rut following his first move to Liverpool albeit IIRC he spent much of his time at his next club West Ham injured so those few years probably looks worse than his performances when fit actually were. Had City not sent him to Cardiff though and either played him or sold him to a PL side last summer we'd probably be looking at 3 consecutive years of very good Bellamy performances

He should definitely be playing week in week out for Liverpool though, he's a billion times more effective that either Downing, Hernderson or Kuyt (based on this seasons form)
