It's not about being convinced I'm right, I know I'm right, and the following is what I'm right about.
1) The number one killer in western society today is Heart disease.
ok
2) The number one reason why so many people are getting heart disease is becuase of meat in their diets.
I highly doubt that, more of an unhealthy living style. And because of unhealthy oils and fats, which could just as much be present in chips for example. Your source says it's caused mainly by animal products in the diets, but a proper diet with meat would never cause this, Do you really think the people with bad diets are willing to change it? If meat would be banned then they'd continue a rubbish diet with the leftover stuff. Besides, nobody of them is going to tolerate someone taking away their favorite sausages, burgers, bacon and chicken.
3) The meat industry as a whole causes the most destruction upon the environment above any other industry in the world.
Imo it's worth it. I want to eat my burger or fried chicken.
4) The meat industry causes the highest amount of global warming above any other industry in the world.
I don't care, global warming is heavily exaggerated earth has had many of these warmups in the past long before we were around. That we cause global warming has never been proven yet, a lot of scientists still don't know.
5) The meat industry slaughters millions upon millions of animals every year.
So we can eat our burgers and steaks, a good cause.
6) There are still many cases where these animals are not kept in healthy conditions.
As much as I regret animal abuse, cows, pigs and chickens are not pets imo, they are production tools for meat, leather, milk and eggs. We have created the majority of these populations ourselves. They wouldn't even be alive in such numbers without us.

You can tell me whatever you like, but nothing you can say can make me believe that meat in this day and age is needed and that the negatives it has on our environment and health are worthwhile trade off's just so people can enjoy the taste of meat when you can survive without it perfectly fine.
Meat is needed because we like it, meat replacements taste like rubbish and you know it ( that this is subjective, just because you think it tastes the same doesn't mean someone who has been loving their meat for all their life think so too), nothing beats real fried chicken, baked chicken, hamburgers, frikandels (dutch), kielbasa's with garlic (polish), doner kebab, etc...
Enjoyment of life + fun > Health and environment. You could say the same for stuff like drugs and alcohol, it's not good for you and we don't need it, it would save a lot of land by not having to grow sugar canes, wheat, marijuana plants, etc...But we
want it.
You really sound like a way too positive and progressive thinker dude, let me guess, you vote for a left wing party

? Some people want stuff to stay as they are in the world, people like me. I want to drive a big vulgar car, I want to eat as much meat as I want, etc. You put too much faith in humanity that we can evolve...
You said we don't need meat, well we don't need big plasma tv's, dvd boxes for every film ( downloading is more environment firendly), 24'' HD screens, Rolls Royce's & Hummers, Big villa's, massive amplifiers and speakers, quad core cpu's for browsing, heating ( just dress appropriately instead?)...
