Hence the "like a chav..."

Chav's don't listen, not from where I live anyway. This kid looks like the American equivilant of a chav, a brat that will only learn his lesson with some form of force that he won't forget rather than words. He'll end up going to his mates, "just got shouted at by my mom." If that happened to me, I would think to myself, I got away with it.

Then he needs professional help. Just sticking him in jail won't help.

I've known of people who've done this sort of thing before though. Someone at our school once caught a cat, singed its tail, etc. People heard about it afterwards but nothing came of it.

If I'd have been there at the time, I would have reacted but I can't see what retrospective anger will solve. If someone harmed either of my cats, I would be upset but what I'd do in the heat of the moment and what I'd want done afterwards are two different things.

damn wish i know him in real life he would end up with such a beating for that

"does kitty like water" i would hold his head down toilet see how he likes that

What nonsense, where has this been proven?

There are many many sources on the net and they make for some very interesting reading, just type 'vegetarian diet vs meat diet' into google and take your pick, I'm not going to get into a long drawn out argument over this trading sources, fact is the world and peoples health would be better off without meat, as part of a balanced diet it's probably not to bad for you 'health-wise', but at the end of the day if you can have a vegetarian balanced diet and not contribute towards killing animals in their millions or mass destruction on our environment including global warming then I think common-sense kicks in and tells me that vegetarianism is a good thing.

Furthermore if you drink milk, eat cheese, or use any products containing compounds extracted from animals (leather, pharmaceuticals etc) your the biggest hypocrite of them all.

You don't need to be on your environment destroying computer, yet here you are....

I choose to abstained from the one thing that is the 'biggest' needless and environmental destructive force on this planet, the one thing that practically anyone can do with ease and at the same time doesn't make life very difficult. I do my best to not use leather products, I eat eggs from my mums 20 free range chickens that she keeps, I barely touch milk as I don't drink tea or coffee and I generally only eat fruit for breakfasts which helps, and cheese, well I have that on rare occasions but the bulk of cheese I eat is pure vegetarian Indian Paneer cheese.

For a long while yet we won't be able to easily escape from doing things that has a either direct or indirect negative impact on the world, it's a case of prioritizing these things, technology has become a needed integral part of our society if we are to evolve, I believe that technology has a big part to play in teaching us about ourselves, it plays a big part in our evolution, each great advancement in technology changes how we live our lives fundamentally and usually for the better, be it helping to run the economy, curing diseases, bringing people closer together with better communication, cleaner more environmentally friendly forms of transportation, outer-space exploration, the list goes on and on. Eating meat doesn't really have any great trade off's for all the health and environmental problems it causes other than it tastes nice, and yet it's still the worst industry when it comes to environmental damage over any other, and at the same time the industry is also ethically very questionable.
