catalyst 13.1

what cable do you use to connect your monitor as it only works with dvi connections not hdmi

I have 2 monitors, my main one is connected by HDMI and the secondary by DVI and this is what happens to mine:

That is the thing regarding zero core, the way it is suppose to work is when the monitor(s) are of or in stand by mode the GPU goes to extremely low power mode that even the fans switch of as well and turn on for a few seconds at like 100% every 5 minutes, right?

With a MSI 7850 twin frz III OC.

Is that normal enough or are the fans suppose to not do that?

My monitors wake up just fine, sometimes though the monitors will wake up by themselves and just go to my blank screensaver, not sure if this is because a program like AV has checked for updates thus a window pops up.

just got 2155 on my 7970 with these.. that was with AA on x4 and tess on normal! does that sound about right?

In crossfire when not being used my other cards are off.

Take blackops 2, I only use one card to play that (profile) and the other 2 are off.

Master Locky has found the problem. :D

It seems when I did a fresh install from windows 8 I used Cat 13.1 from day1. But the windows 7 to windows 8 would have had loads of previous versions of Cat installed.

So I used the 12.10 trick (installed 12.10 and then install the later driver but omit the control panel) this seems to have worked.

so AMD there is a problem with the control panel from 12.11 onwards which results in zero core not working.

This is why we need an AMD rep here to listen to these issues.

I have noticed a bug in these drivers, I'm getting checker board on the Facebook "online friends" section in the bottom right.

There is no issue anymore, it was resolved with 12.11 drivers

I would have to go some to drop the oc on a 3970x in a RIVE 4.0ghz is the default.

After I posted about having problems, it did occur to me about the problems in the past with X58/79 but I thought it was fixed with 12.11

I will do what flopper has sugested though and reinstall 13.1 (it might have something to do with having a GTX 690 plus drivers on there before).

@whyscotty Hows your new setup working, I hope all is going well.

Just for sake of writing it down for anyone searching, I managed to sort my BSOD issues that has dogged my setup since the first betas of 12.11. I have a 6770 & 5770 crossfire, which BSOD soon as I install the driver.

I searched the internet and pretty much found nothing, except one random comment about uninstalling (and deleting drivers) for the AMD HD Audio device, it worked. I'm now on 13.1 with crossfire.

I'll fill in a bug report and see if they'll fix it! its a bit of a git to install, but got there in the end.

Just wiped my PC and installed win8, sticking the 13.1 drivers on it. dota2 won't launch, nor will 10,000,000 on steam. The latter is generating an atioglxx.dll error in the crash log. Currently rolling back to 12.11 betas to see if that helps.

Edit: Games now load, but there is no sound at all. Time to reinstall creative drivers ._.

When I changed from Green to Red I did have a few probs but a clean install of windows sorted it.

Had a bit of a scare for a couple of days as I thought my mobo
was on its way out but all sorted now :)

Apart from that it's sweet :D

Installing win 8 as we speak so hopefully that won't throw any curve balls :)

Let us know how Win8 runs when it all settle

On my system I decided to remove all the AMD and nvidia drivers and then used Driver sweeper. Unfortunately it swept a bit too well and trashed my Windows install so I am reinstalling at the moment. I have just got to the part where there is over 100 important updates to install.:D

5850 Vapor-X
Yes, these seems to have sorted the 'red screen' crash when I play Battlefield Bad Company 2 with Windows 8. I'll will monitor this one, so far so good.
Also I have a HDMI Audio error when installing, will look into that.

So in everyone's opinion is it worth me reinstalling fc3 or not? I've struggled to get it playable on both single and dual card setups. Came to the conclusion it was just another poorly coded pile of junk and removed it before xmas :o

Still a bag of ---- :(

Sorry, still having stuttering

I'll leave it then, I know I could arse about with 3rd party programs to get it somewhat playable, but I really shouldn't have to do this for a supposed AAA game with a pair of top end gpus.

Just installed win8 last night and reinstalled everything else.

FC3 is a hell of a lot better for me now,

very little stutter :)

Maybe worth reinstalling if your on win8.
