I should have got 2 2600's now

sorry for saying this but people put the 2600xt down only because benchmark sites says its so slow. i agree it isn't the best card but the performance is there. as new drivers get released more performance will come...

i would never pay £220+ on a card, when i know a £90 card will do a similer job.. or buy 2 for £180 to get similer speed as the 2900

More performance? surely it cant get even closer to a HD2900XT, unless the 2900's gonna improve even more.

So is it infact faster than an 8600GTS?

new drivers helps the performance...

i honesty couldn't say if the 2600xt is faster than an 8600GTS. im just saying don't believe everything what benchmark sites say...the 2600xt is a very good card..

2x 2600xt would give even more performance.. near a 8800gts

Does these drivers fix the fan issue or is that still there? Woulda thought that would be one of the first things they'd fix since it was so obvious.
well i dont understand what was all the bother with the noise issue with the fan on the graphics card...its so quite and im running 2 cards in crossfire..mabe its because im using the latest drivers and this has sorted the noise level....but this pc setup is a lot quiter than my last one.. :)

Tbh i take a 8800 320mb one b4 i got a 2600 or two for that matter.(not bashing the 2600) i know some said they would not spend the cash but compare
it to the high end models gtx ultra and your not going mad. tbh 20" and above cry out for a 8800 or 2900.

but some people haven't got that sort of money for a 8800. im disabled i myself haven't got that much money to spend on a graphic card.. 2x 2600xt is a good, powerful and cheaper way.

LoL m8 as i said not trying to get on your case.

£180 i found a 8800 320mb to the door.
2600 Close to £90 each so in fact you save pennys or none at all on two cards. But i never looked else were for the 2600 just ocuk. But as u said if its just
the one card and u cant save abit longer for a better model then 2600 is not so bad like i said before not bashing it or you.

how i think about it is i can buy 1 2600xt card now and get better performance than my old 1600xt + 1650pro in crossfire... then i can buy another 2600xt next month then i'll have near performance as a 8800gts. i know 8800gts would be still be abit faster but having 2 2600xt's and getting near performance as a 8800gts it really good plus there would be a enough performance there to play any game..

btw im selling my 1600xt 256mb + 1650pro 512mb cards if anyone is interested please email me (in trust)

Is there something wrong with the 7.7 drivers from ATi's site now? I downloaded them again last night, and again today, and when installing I keep getting Driver INF not found error and the drivers wont work

7.6 Drivers work fine

But surely if you sold the two x1600's....AND the 2600 card. You would then have enough money for a 8800 gts or something. Rather than paying 'more' money for another 2600xt? Or is that just me.

Upto you though naturally :)

i can get another 2600xt ddr4 for £80.. so total would be £160, cheaper than a 8800gts.. to be honest i prefer ATi

Any problems running with the crossfire config? Was reading the hardocp review and they didn't like the way the cards were positioned, literally one card is tight to the other and the back cards fan is just sucking in heat from the card in front of it.

Thats a mad setup right there. Theres like a fraction of an inch available for the back acrd to even attempt to get any air into its fan.

It is kind of a poor design, i guess a fan blowing from the side would help out a little, they should have kept the same fan design seen on the x1950xt cards that blow the air in from the rear.
