Never trust hardocp they are quite simply crap, yes on that particular board there is little clearance but ive seen an inch clearance on a crossfire sytem on another review.

I disagree considering how hot this card runs the coolers are VERY efficient.

I'm talking in regards to xfire, the placement of the coolers are not well designed in regards to xfire. It maybe a small percentage of people that do crossfire but it doesn't mean they have to drop the ball on its cooling.

Are the coolers any wider on the 2900 compared to the 8800, if not the 8800 would suffer the same fate in sli on that motherboard, either the motherboard they used in the hardocp pic is quite old and doesnt take into account the new sized coolers or its a poorly designed mobo.

The tweaktown pic i posted used a p35 p5k3-deluxe and there is probably about an inch gap between the cards which id say is sufficient.

5. Type this : demo_play short_timedemo or demo_play buildings_timedemo and Enter

its to do with the crossfire connecter to the other card,they are very short in lengh..........my setup is wider between cards,but not that much wider,and ive seen longer crossfire connecters on a thraed on here...

The crossfire connector is flexible is it not? i thought as shown on the hardocp pic it can be shortened causing the arch or lengthened to be nearly flat as shown on the tweaktown pic.

sorry edited post.. but yeah they are flexable,but they could do with being a little longer...

How do you fine xfire performance in general in games? Considering trading up to a crossfire setup. Got any pics of your case internals?

yeah can take some photos and post them ,but i ll have to do it later cause im not at home at the moment...
 
just tried that Stalker benchie, i got 107fps average on the buldings one, thats maxed out 1280x1024, with Full Dynamic Lighting, i even played it a bit to see if there was any slowdown, but it was absolutely belting along, even when i got caught up in that mass firefight. :D

Just ran the short timedemo and got just over 100fps average on that one. :cool:
