ATI are very lucky they have the best performing gfx card at the moment as they would be losing so many customers to Xfastest who have far far superior drivers!

Oh.. erm, no, my cd has SP1 built in... it just runs through like a normal install fine. Never had to set my location to US.

i've installed it before, a while ago now infact and it gave me nothing but problems.

you have to set your location to the US and then install it but after you change it back to UK updates screw up cos vista tries to get updates that it needs but wont install them as your set to UK again.

unless all thats changed recently?

I'd try my best and get this on for help as it ironed all my m8's problems out.

Windows update doesn't download sp1 properly for me so I had to dload the seperate client,

uninstall your gfx card drivers prior to install and then install 8.8 again after just to stop any possible compatability issues.

ah i see well Its been working perfectly after using the standalone install. Used it on both my Vista machines.

anyone else 'missing' in the options the setting under the adaptive AA, for super smooth and the other things...it doesnt show on mine now on 8.8

Was covered further back in the thread (when i asked about it ), been removed to make it simpler (as those settings didn't do anything anyway apparently as the drivers controlled when they were used), so all you get now is the slider with Performance at the left, Quality at the right.

i installed the one i linked and its worked fine,

on the other hand i'm not going to be in my wifes good books, my problem is fixed now that i have sp1 installed so the second gfx card purchase wasn't needed after all lucky me has crossfire now though

well i had a waterblock on the first card so the stock cooler got "looked at" meaning i couldn't return it, returning it under DSA was my plan but i won £35 on the scratchcards today so its a keeper i think lol
