CES 2025 AMD & Nvidia Keynote Live Chat [06/01/25]

Interesting to claim that frame generation reduces memory usage. From all the testing I've seen to date, it has an additional memory overhead when enabled.
That's not what it says, it says this new frame gen beta has reduced memory usage.

Can imagine it now. LtMatt frantically reporting all this to Lisa on a call.

But Lisa, forget £599, they won't even go for £499 now boss..

One plonker keep even suggesting £399!!

Lisa be like: We can't do £399, that will bankrupt us!!

Yes yes, I know no one cares about what we say here bla bla bla. Still a funny thought though :D

AMD today:

Yeah so from that only only DLSS4 feature exclusive to 50 series is MFG, so unless you /need/ 240fps at 4K with path tracing, then the other DLSS suite improvements are coming to 40 series too , which automatically means an fps uplift and latency drop which is what I predicted the other day.

The Neural stuff for texture compression is mostly important for the lower VRAM models obviously.

Mrk. You got so much wrong, please don't be telling us you predicted things now...

That's it, you done it now, you going to make me dig out my clown pic.

i doubt that mfg 4x is going to reduce latency, its just stupid.. i hope that they dont remove the ultra low latency option from the control panel

Latency will go up, not down - thats the funny thing Jensen won't tell you that input latency is gonna be very high on the 5090 with DLSS4.
That's also why they now have a new version of Reflex, they're trying to get the latency down but there is no way they can reduce it enough, DLSS4 will have very high latency

its basically check mate for amd.. they are not going to survive this
too late to make that shift to AI and when they do make that shift they decided to go midrange exclusive, which now in AI terms looks like entry level worse than APU level

5070 Ti will do me perfectly.

Well done nvidia. AMD must crying now. They will have to sell their 9070 XT for £399

That is the issue with them waiting until Nvidia releases. Nvidia waited for GDDR7 to be in production - AMD just waited for "reasons" despite using GDDR6. It could be AMD have their own stuff too,but nobody knows because they couldn't be bothered talking about their own cards.

Now,the cards will be compared with the RTX5000 series cards when they launch and not the older ones. They will be worth less than if launched a few months ago.

Everything going according to plan.
