CES 2025 AMD & Nvidia Keynote Live Chat [06/01/25]

**** that. We all knew that.

What about the 5070 and 5070 Ti price? What's your thoughts on that?

Reviews will show tiny uplift without fake frames and 12gb is crap, the 9070 actually has a shot of beating it. I'm not watching so if they have detailed the real generational uplift, let me know.

AMD today:

That was you earlier when seeing the performance numbers and price being revealed. And here you are now:

Mrk. You got so much wrong, please don't be telling us you predicted things now...

That it, you done it, you going to make me dig out my clown pic now.
Lol the table literally shows exactly what I said the other day about the DLSS suite of features coming to 40 series whilst something unique remains 50 series only (MFG).

It's obvious now with all this info from NV that 40 series and 30 will get a performance and image quality uplift with the new DLSS which they label as "beta" in the table.

nope no not at all.. both parties are positioning their products around AI tech, and nvidia here is the clearly superior option by 15 lightyears
amd doesnt have any product that showcases raw horsepower, neither does it have any that showcases ai performance, its nowhere, theres no niche for it to fall back on
and nvidia's achieved this effortlessly with a small uplift in transistor count, next gen is going to a bloodbath because then we are again talking about a big increase in transistor count
amd's done in discrete graphics, it was good to know you

So going by Nvidia's site about DLSS 4, the cyberpunk video is slightly misleading as its using DLSS 3.5 on the 4000 series but DLSS 4 on the 5000 series, not sure why they didn't use DLSS 4 on the 4090 to compare... i know it will still be a big difference but interesting why they did that...

"
Alongside the availability of GeForce RTX 50 Series, NVIDIA app users will be able to upgrade games and apps to use these enhancements.

75 DLSS games and apps featuring Frame Generation can be upgraded to Multi Frame Generation on GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs.

For those same games, Frame Generation gets an upgrade for GeForce RTX 50 Series and GeForce 40 Series GPUs, boosting performance while reducing VRAM usage.

And on all GeForce RTX GPUs, DLSS games with Ray Reconstruction, Super Resolution, and DLAA can be upgraded to the new DLSS transformer model."

That's not what it says, it says this new frame gen beta has reduced memory usage.
But there's no beta tag next to the frame generation line. I think it's intentionally ambiguous marketing, personally. Nvidia will be pushing hard why 12GB is just fine for a supposedly 4090-class card.

Probably fudging the numbers if 4 delivers a better uplift it makes the card look better.

It says Enhanced Frame Gen, that's new, obviously that part isn't in beta so is in a matured state, DLSS features are modular, you can have matured versions alongside beta versions of other DLSS tech

The issue here is that only a 20% uplift over an RTX4070 is almost an RTX4070TI. The RX9070XT is meant to be an RTX4070TI. Unless RDNA4 makes some big RT performance improvements, the RTX5070 will be ahead. So a tie in performance overall. But Nvidia has probably better upscaling and probably lower power consumption overall.

The only advantage AMD has is the extra VRAM.
