Champion's League Final **Will include spoilers**

eto'o'o'o to liverpool..

just read what he said.. apparently creaming over liverpool

"After having seen what Liverpool did last year we told ourselves not to throw in the towel. We followed Liverpool's example.

"In the final you can't doubt yourselves.

"The final's played right up to the last whistle. We covered ourselves in the spirit of Liverpool."

"i love liverpool"

Decent bait Danny.
Oh no it's not. Its a fact isn't it. Once everton lost any chance of euro football the team fell apart, the manager left. They only got one decent chance to convert euro qualification.

I have friends who where at the Juv/Liverpool game and i'm not saying its cut and dry what happened just that incident cost Everton a lot in the long run.

You must need glasses then, because in my eyes the premier league is the best league in the world.... thus Chelsea is probably the best team in Europe

Unfortunatly!

(I'm a Coventry fan)

Err that makes no sence AT ALL...

So just because a team doesn't come from England means they can't possibly be the best team in Europe...? Yer go on then mate, I agree :p

Its not quite fact , more like the final nail in the coffin is my take on it - all about opinions I suppose.
No doubt it did cost Everton - it cost a lot of teams and the league as a whole.

I still think its good bait though , I expected a few bites from the Liverpool supporters. :)

Honestly didnt mean it that way. What I meant fact wise, is that it got everton kicked out of europe when they were on a roll as a team.

The final nail in the coffin was appointing Colin Harvey as manager, losing linekar, out bidding arsenal for cottee and having to play Bobby friggin mimms in goal against liverpool in the 86 cup final.

Arsenal fans may whinge about about losing their keeper tonight but atleast you didnt have to play bobby through my legs mimms ;)

Correct. We won the league, Cup Winners Cup, FA Cup runners up (which we'd have won if we weren't so knackered from the CWC final 3 days previous), and were voted the best team in Europe. Within a couple of years of that, we'd lost almost half of our great team and we never recovered from it. We were certainly on the rise and with constant European football we'd have been challenging for trophies every year, I have no doubt about that.
