Yeah? Well my best mate's mum's cousin's daughter in law's best friend knew Shearer when he was a kid and he supported the Sunderland. ;) But please keep it a secret, Alan would be ever so mad if it was leaked to the media. :p
I know her too.
She tells lies tbh.

If i saw that ref in the street i wouldnt even give him the joy of telling him how rubbish he was... why because he would probably pull a yellow card out of his ass when all i did was speak to him.

Fair play to Barca for managing to come back and score two perfectly legal goals, shame about the ref who was out of his league and ruined, yes ruined what could have been a most brilliant game. I so hope he is not refing in the World Cup. What a scum ridened, idiotic, moronic excuess for a ref. grrrrrrr

Not the homosexual sense obviously.

Just the way he acts annoys me, when he stands around Gk's etc.. did other stuff in the game which annoyed me too.

Barcelona swapping Henry for Eto would be taking one step forward and then two backwards.

Henry is the better player but Eto is younger and he only going to get better.

Crap ref tonight for both sides. Took about 10 or so cynical fouls from Barca to draw a card from the ref yet he whips one out for Henry when he makes a challenge and clearly wins the ball..

So Barca playing badly through good Arsenal defending, that's what you're saying? ;)

No Barca just werent that good, no width, really they were there for the taking, Eto was class though, the buck toothed one just kept faffing about with it, and the bloke who got subbed for Larssen was awful

I don't watch a whole lot of football, but when I saw the referee at the begining I remembered him as being absolutely rubbish and knew it was going to be a bad match.

Both teams suffered from poor decisions, but on balance barca were lucky not to get a whole load of cards for diving as well as fouling. To be fair I thought there were a few occasions were other refs would have penalised Arsenal for time wasting, one corner springs to mind.

Games like that need a big referee from a large league, not some bloke from norway who probably makes garden gnomes in his spare time.

Can you get more arrogant than hogging the ball when your teammates are in a better position............all because you want to score in paris after having a bad few seasons at PSG.

If that isnt being arrogant what is

am I not right in thinking under the advantage rule, he could also have let play go on, allow the goal & still go back and send Lehman off.

Perhaps they're lucky he didn't do that.....

No, you are wrong. The red card for a proffessional foul is for denying the opposition a goal-scoring opportunity. If play had been allowed to continue, since Barca scored, the goalscoring opportunity was NOT denied, and hence Lehmann could not have been carded.

DAVID PLEAT - WHAT A MUPPET! Anyone notice just before Barca equalised, he came out with a classic line..... "the sight is in end"... lollerskates

The only other source of humour tonight was when Ronaldinho sidefooted wide from inside the box, I have NFI what he was trying to do :)

For once Henry's dead ball deliveries were very good, top notch corners and an excellent cross which was met by an equally good header from Sol.

Henry was incredibly unlucky to get booked, it was a great tackle, the ref just reacted because he ran very fast before diving in. Meanwhile some of the treatment being dished out by Barca was a bit off, especially on Ljungberg. Who, incidentally, was at least tracking back and then working very hard to get forward when the opportunity arose.

Alumnia played pretty well overall I though, very solid until the last 15mins. HOWEVER, his distribution was appalling, continually hoofing it up the pitch and giving away possession.

As regards the time added on, the problem for me was that Marquez was rolling around on the deck holding up play for 60-90s, and yet no team seemed to be added on for that (just the 3mins). There should have been 4mins extra time at the very least, not that I expect Arsenal to have scored.

Anyone else see Gilberto and Henry chatting at the end? My lip-reading skills interpreted it as:

Gilberto: "Will you stay?"
Henry: <slowly shakes head)... "No"
Gilberto: "Why not?"
Henry: "blablablablabla... I want to win"

Barca's goal was offside, but to be fair the freekick leading to Campbell's goal was a bit cheap, Eboue was caught by a trailing arm but he went down quite easily.

Anyway, what I want to do now is draw a line under the game. I'm pretty down about the defeat, well, I feel empty actually, and the ref was atrocious, but sitting around moaning about it isn't going to bring the Cup back to London. There's always next season, remember how low we all felt in 1995, and now look at us.

What I think we should do is try and put this behind us and look forward to the World Cup in the summer. Let's all get behind England (except PAz and, er, Jazz ;) ) and focus our energy on that. Let's bring the Jules Rimet back home. It's been away far too long.
