Champions League Spoilers 21st/22nd Feb

Awesome performance from Arsenal tonight, well deserved win and made a Real Madrid side that looked potent in the first 15 minutes look very ordinary by the end. Brilliant first half, bit of a flat second half other than Henry's tremendous goal.

I hate saying it but I was reminded of a certain Giggsy goal the way Henry took it past five Galacticos to slot it home. World class player showing everyone up on a pitch full of world stars. Fabregas also had a brilliant game, I think he could become an integral part of the Arsenal team for years to come.

Well played Arsenal. Unlucky 'pool.

Good going for Arsenal. Havnt seen any of the game, but winning in Madrid isnt easy to do. Well done.

Good result for Milan. Bad that Dida got stretchered off.

Come on Benfica! :D

Well done Arsenal, have sky+'d the match so will watch it later.

Didn't think we deserved to lose tonight but it makes the second leg interesting. Once again tonights perfomance highlighted our total inability to score but never mind. Thought we let them back into it a bit in the second half after controling the first half quite easily. A draw would have been a fair result :(

Cracking result there :D. I was hoping for a draw and even then thinking i'd be lucky, took the game to them and were very rarely troubled even with our ropey side backs. Everyone played very well except Hleb i thought, i dont think i've ever seen him have a shot or manage to complete 2 passes in a row and seems completely ineffectual in every game i've seen him in.

Neither were given the ball. We really need to sort out the passing and stop the long balls. I can't remember more than one or two passes, on the floor, that went forward rather than sideways or backwards. There's no point having all the possession when we can't create any decent attacking moves. I'm still confident we'll beat them but we need to learn how to play attacking football, and quickly. Well done Arsenal.

We literally did nothing all game.

Before their goal they had a 1 on 1 with Reina, another good chance that was wrongly ruled offside, a couple of freekicks in dangerous positions and numerous corners. On the other hand we had had one corner and a speculative Riise free kick from about 300 miles out. Our passing was terrible and we gave away far too many silly freekicks

Quite why the ITV commentators were making out we were better than them tonight I've no idea.

Oh and when will someone tell Gerrard to stop taking corners, almost every time he either fails to beat the first man or plays a stupid ineffective short one.

I have to say fair play to Arsenal, they should have had the tie wrapped up. Real were diabloical though, really really poor. you would think that they only had half the team on out there at times. Ah well off to the Chelsea game tomorrow should be fun :D

I'm shocked at Madrid's performance. They looked so lethargic at times. Zidane looks a shadow of his former self and Ronaldo resembles a tub of lard. If Ronaldo is to leave Madrid at the end of the season, i can't see there being many takers! Defensively, Madrid looked so static at the back. Very unimpressed.

This hurts to say because i detest the guy with a passion but Lehman is proving himself as a world class keeper. Also, Henry put himself in the shop window tonight. Everything about the guy is pure class. Ronaldo out and Henry in? ;)

I agree. I thought the ITV4 commentary was awful. They kept making mistakes and I'm sure one of them kept rubbing himself whenever the name Gerrard was mentioned. We badly need him in the Premiership but in Europe some of our best results have come without him. They didn't seem to mention that at all.
