Very true.
I dont like to make sweeping generalisations about specific groups, so if any 'pool fans feel that this is unjust, i apologise:
I know 4 Liverpool fans, and ever since May, any time you critisise anything about Liverpool, they allways respond with 'we won the CL' or 'were the best in Europe'. Which to me shows both great pride in the club, but also great ignorence.
Wether they want to admit it or not, they were lucky in most of their CL games last year. They were lucky against Juve (where DelPiero had a disallowd goal that should have stood), lucky againt Chelsea (where they got a goal awarded when it wasnt a goal), and were lucky against Milan (where, for objectified people, they played well for only 6mins, looking bad/ordinary for the rest of the match). They were lucky. But no Liverpool fan can accept that. They practically refuse to belive the final lasted more than that 6minutes, and any mention of the disaloud goal from Sheva, or any mention of how bad they were in the 1st half sees them returning to the tierd comment of 'we won the CL'.
Yes be happy about your win. Yes it was a good comeback. But they cannot continue to 'come back' from every critisism of their team thus far with the comments 'we won the CL'. Its pathetic.
I know just as many ManU fans, and none of them were that bad when they won. Although they should have been considering the year that they had.
Winning the CL is nothing if you dont finish in the top2 in your domestic league imo.
Again, i apologise if any Liverpool fans feel that the above is an unjust generalisation, its based upon my experiance with 'pool fans, rarther than a 'fully sweeping generalisation'
