cheap M3, whats the worst..

Wow. these things are really showing their age now.

I know its an EMFREE etc etc, but to most it looks like an ancient BMW, usually driven (at this stage) by certain types of ethnic minorities, with mismatched tyres.

Matt82 would you REALLY have sunk 5K into this when all is said and done?

i recon itll be in that region depending how far from standard i go with suspension and how much is painted

the criteria was at least 6 cyl and rwd.

a normal 3 series would be cheaper, but youd always want the emfree, what else is there?

ps, its got "halos" putting it right in the sterotype ;)

when im done with it itll be a clean simple looking emfree, which is a rarity where im from.

Rarity in the sense that its proberly a true M3 amongst all the 316/318's badged and done up to look like one. :D :p

Just turn it back to standard as much as you can, there's so much dross out there you'll actually make money rather than trying to sell a bling bling M3.

Also are you homeless and sleeping in it? why are the seats rolled so far back?

those wheels are original, early, m3 wheels, the best design imo

as for rare, you dont even see other e36s dressed up as M3s round here, theyre really thin on the ground

another odity... pilot sports on the back, F1as on the front, so someones been spending money on it

Iirc, yes they did. (I cba to google it though)

Looks half decent tbh! - better than the £1500 one that was posted anyway.

Keep us posted. :)

aim for tonight is get all the cooling stuff back on, get it up to temp and see if i loose my "itll boil over" bet.

once it has some heat ill be changing the oil

if im really lucky and have a gearbox that wants ATF, then i might even try changing the gbox oil.

brake fluid change can wait for another night

Keep a close eye on the gauge when you think it's done and be patient - it took me ages to bleed my 328i cooling system (much worse than any other car i've done) properly after I changed the stat & housing......bubble........................bubble........

I'll second & third that! my e36 328i was a real **** to bleed properly, I ended up jacking it up (at the front) to get the final few bubbles out. Incidentally, this is AFTER I'd paid a garage to do the job for me in the first place!

The M52 is a swine to bleed properly, I hope the M3's lump is not quite to troublesome for you, but won't be holding my breath!

sounds good. im used to moronproof golf systems that self bleed every time. worst case i can get the front up on some ramps

mine has an expansion tank, rather than a filler on the rad. the rad has a bleed hose going to the expansion tank and there was one more bleed screw

New bits all fitted, nice seeing shiny stuff under the bonnet. Compared and stat and new. Old was opening in Luke warm water, so obviously the cause. It has a new water pump and viscous fan too.

The need to feed got in the way of driving it, ill save that for tomorrow
