I must admit, just by reading some of the stories in here, seems that the once a cheat always a cheat seems to ring true.

Generally, yes. It's EXTREMELY difficult to go back to how things were before the person cheats, however much you try and convince yourself otherwise.

Unless you did something pretty drastic, nobody deserves to be cheated on. How hard is it for a girl just to say ive met someone else that i like, and rather than do something il regret we need to end this.

Agreed. Even if the relationship was on the rocks, why was it your responsibility to end it? She should have ended it and then gone off with someone else, not cheated on you, no-matter how bad the relationship was

Looking at the poll numbers, thats almost half of the people that voted have been cheated on :O Did not think it would be anywhere near that much as a percentage.

With me it was weird my GF at uni complained that the sex was painful for her (winky size etc) and refused to have sex with me after a drunken night I made her foof bleed.

That went on for 6 months!

Think she needed someone smaller.

I thought it'd be higher, but bear in mind a lot of people here may not have had a partner yet and a lot of people may have been cheated on but don't know they have...

Voting has been neck and neck since 70.

Seeing as we're mostly guys here we're probably only seeing one side of the story. Was txting my gf bout this topic and she said that while she knows several girls who have cheated she also knows a lot of guys that have gone full hog and slept with other girls.

It would seem that girls go for drunken snogs a lot more then guys but when guys do cheat they do it for sex not for just a kiss.

I'll leave it up for you all to decide which is smarter

I'd say it was pretty much impossible to go back to how things were before someone cheated. Once that understanding and trust has been broken, its bloody hard to rebuild it fully.
I got back with my 1st GF about 4 times stupidly. That was because my 1st love, I lost my virginity to her, and she was my 1st GF hence didn't want to loose her and what ever, got cheated on 4 times before I woke up and realised I was being stupid lol. When I was cheated on with my 2nd GF, she told me over the phone, all apologetic, my next words to her was that she was dumped and she could pick up anything of hers that she wanted within a week, or it would be left outside, best decision I ever made lol.

I agree with the old saying that A leopard cannot change its spots.

True, any girls wish to chuck in there two cents? The poll was intended as men cheated on by women, to get as an average number. But i would be curious if women seem to think more men cheat than women nevertheless.

I had a not too serious (and quite short) relationship with a girl whilst I was studying for my A-levels. I was told that when I wasn't around she wasn't too shy with the lads, flirting and generally giving the impression that she was available. Nothing ever happened with them * but I still see that as being cheated on as she was treating me like a bit of a mug

A more option would seem to be "did your ex cheat on you with one of her ex boyfriends?".. seems the majority of cheatin' is when the girl grabs at that familiarity scenerio. Happened to me (once or twice I'm not sure and not sure to what extent), with ex partners

I'm a good catch - have money, never had cause for complaint in the sack, I know how to treat a woman etc.. I don't think there is a hard and fast rule why it happens :confused:
