I don't think its a bad peice of business for either Chelsea or Milan - Milan for the reasons stated above - for Chelsea, as has been mentioned ad infinitum, a nailed on 20+ scorer (from the front, as opposed to midfield) has been the thing lacking.
Having been held to ransom for Drogba for £24m from OM, securing Shevchenko for little more is satisfying.
Although Drogba has been more on song in the last season, scoring 12 in the PL (+4 in other competitions) even with being away in the African Cup of Nations, securing another top quality goal scorer was a priority.
Big players rarely leave big clubs while having success.
Henry won't be leaving Arsenal. Eto'o is not going to leave Barcelona.
Options to secure players of Shevchenko's stature are limited (and I can well remember a number of threads in this forum of how Chelsea were not an attractive enough club for these players to join) - well he's here now, Milan have a decent fee (and we haven't yet lost Gallas, or even Crespo to Milan).
I am rather glad I renewed both my season tickets.
