Chemical attack in London...

As i said, labour market is dynamic and flexible so unemployment and wages don't change with immigration or any other population change.

Can the real DP stand up?

Does he really think importing millions of people who disproportionally (for the ones who work) went into certain jobs such as construction, hospitality and care work doesn't affect wages for these roles....?

Case from last year; basically if convicted of a serious crime you can cite the fact you were convicted of a serious crime as a reason to avoid deportation as the regime back home might punish you for it too. Sort of creates a pervese incentive in a way... assylum application rejected but if you were to go out and do a rape then...

A Iranian rapist has won the right to stay in the UK after a judge decided he would face persecution in his native country, a report states.

Despite apparently lying about being a former employee of MI5, his appeal against deportation was successful.

The immigration tribunal was told that the man first entered Britain in 1992 as a student, The Sun reports.

Perhpas we should have an arrangement whereby dangerous, convicted criminals who have seved their sentence and are due to be deported but managed to get a court to rule it too dangerous for them are just put on a remote Island off the west coast of Scotland.

They're then not deported to a dangerous regime but also not allowed on the mainland UK anymore... and they have the option to a one way ticket to any country that will allow them entry.

That way they're still deported from the UK mainland (keep the public safe) but thier human rights are protected (not sent back home to torture/death) and they can leave whenever they want.

Both of us not entitled to personal allowance if that makes it easier.
Still, I dont want to splash 7k/m for a decent house in a nice area - anything decent(4/5 bed detached) in areas like Richmond is already 1.5m+ hence I am stuck in a flat.

You sound like us, so lets be approximate and say you both earn 125k (which would be a minimum right) that’s got to be something like 6.5 per month each. So, you are either

1 - in your 20s and still renting and not even thought about buying
2 - have no savings and are having a blast

Either way, 250k is not Richmond money unfortunately. The £ is worth less than it was 10 years ago (about 20%). You must have friends in a similar situation? 250k is Acton money these days.

*or in our case, more than 250k is Croydon money!

Thats exactly my point(although we are 300k+)! We have a flat in Isle of Dogs - my point being this is Acton/Croydon money and it shouldnt/was not this way 30 yrs ago(lets say 50k was 1% 30yrs ago - couple earning 100k would easily buy a house in Richmond with that). To be fair, at this point we decided to make as much investments/savings as possible, retire at 45(currently both 34) and move to Spain/Italy or whatever. London's costs of accommodation are just bonkers at this stage.

All the best :D although I would suggest retiring a little later (say 55) so you can maximise your pension tax breaks etc but that’s just detail.

I will say though there are nice areas more or less everywhere within the M25 it’s just a bit of a commitment to decide to relocate there (as it will be for a while). As for Richmond, pah, South Circ and Heathrow approach…..no thanks :D

Honestly sounds like the government is just desperate to get the backlog down regardless of case details.

Well he's not been caught yet has he...

I’m actually quite surprised he hasn’t been caught yet, I mean look at the state of him - ain’t exactly inconspicuous is he :D

Seems to be a lot of continued media coverage and public outrage too - I think most people would call in if they even thought they’d seen him.

Good news seems to be that the two girls aren't as badly injured as first thought. Bad news is the mother is in a pretty bad way.

Apparently this clown was saving up to go back to Afghanistan to get a wife to being to the UK. Can't be that risky if he wants to go back to go wife shopping?!
