About time, thin tin and poor concrete isn't going to hold that place, the reactor isn't stable and there are still serious problems that can occour...

I remember watching a documentary about the scientists who went back in there a few years later to see what kind of damage had taken place and to find the core, very little safety equipment. Brave men indeed.

TBH it's not surprising the plants are taking back the town as they can survive the smaller amounts of radiation just as we can however over time the damage done would kill us early for the plants they aren't concerned much by living a full long life and so they thrive in an area untoutched by humankind

what would you expect, there's no one around to do any weeding.

i should imagine the wild life is thriving. radiation effects massively up, but biggest predator gone. the environment there must be a relative eden for the animals...

Indeed it is however the animals who do dwell there are living shorter lives or are actually evolving to deal with the radiation
