Chinese GP 2009 - Race 3/17

Is it just a matter of them not getting the car right this season?

Well they have been getting progressively worse since Schumacher, Brawn and Todt left. This year the car is poor and the team is making stupid mistakes too. I can't really see it improving much for next year the way it stands at the moment.
Ofcourse it is way too early to write them off!

Big regulation changes, and you can see Ferrari and McLaren are suffering badly from not having switched to developing this year's car until right at the end of the season.

The really embarassing one is BMW who sqaundered Kubica's championship chances to start developing this car and it's still decidedly midfield.

Interesting race, shame a fair chunk of it was behind the safety car. Lewis could have been in a much better position if it wasn't for losing so much time going off, was entertaining to see him have to pass Kimi several times though, I'm curious as to why Kimi was so slow, if it was the problem he said over the radio or just himself. Had to feel a bit sorry for Massa though, bad luck Ferrari is in disarray. Well done to Red Bull, well deserved. :)

Looking forward to see more of Beumi as he picks up more experience and confidence. He has done well so far, and the accident today wasn't fully his fault.

Entertaining race and well deserved win for Red Bull.

Only had chance to watch the replay. I wasn't really keen with the editing of the pre race build up / after race interviews, celebrations and weighing in. Not to mention the after race thoughts. What the hell was that all about? Couldn't give a toss about Eastenders tbfh!

Looking forward to next week and some sunshine (fingers crossed). =)

Edit: Also I thought Mike Gascoyne was a great bonus to the panel and thought he had much greater insight than Eddie Jordan. Maybe the BBC will take him onboard??

but hamilton will be back soon ;)

"From Red Bull, from Red Bull, from Brawn, from Brawn..."

"From Vettel, from Webber, from Button"

This seems to be a habit of Legards, do they do this in horse racing? He sounds like a man for the horses.

Where they different from the brakes on Button's car?

I didn't see the press conference as they went straight to Mr. Marr. I agree; that doesn't sound like Buemi's error - in which case, great race from him :)

I don't know if they were any different, but carbon ceramic brakes don't always perform the same from one set to the other. I haven't made it up, Barrichello's race engineer said it during the F1 forum.

First off I think congratulations are needed for CS Nuts and the rest of the Red Bull team, Vettel looked quick in Melbourne untill his mishap and Webber had serious pace in the damp/wet in Malaysia before the race was stopped. A well deserved race win & second place.

Quite looking forward to the rest of the season, shaping up to be a good fight between Brawn & RBR and whoever else can pull there fingers out sharpish. Mclaren looking alright in race conditions again, slowly improving and it shows with Hamilton having some confidence in the car again. Im not quite so sure what to think about Ferrari though, Massa was quick untill the car died (any news?) and Kimi needs a big fat boot up his backside. Maybe it could be a joint venture with Piquet & Bourdais who are being shown up every week, im not so bothered about Piquet making a fool of himself but Bourdais is a proven champion and racer.

^ This.

Especially CS||Nuts and the RBR guys. Sounds like the put in a ton of work, and it paid off handsomely. I suspect they'll be feeling it for a couple of days... :D

McLaren are looking pretty decent. Q3 was nice to see. Not sure 1 stopping Lewis was entirely sensible, he's a proven tyre muncher; I think with a fresh pair of X-wets for the last 15 laps or so he could potentially done some fairly decent damage, but hey- I'm not a strategist!

Well chuffed with Vettel and impressed with Buemi, maybe I should pop him back in my Fantasy F1 team! Bourdais has been a bit of a joke this season. Esp in quali. In the race he never seems to do _that_ badly but he almost never does anything good/noteworthy either. Very beige.

I was surprised at Toyota, especially Jarno. They seemed to really find the wet weather a problem. And BMW had yet another frustrating race- though their car looks even tougher than the Brawn! Kubica put Barichello to shame! :D
