What happens if they can't run a race? Do they come back later in the year or just write it off?

A quote from Tobi Gruner of AMuS

Team managers discussed possible race start on Saturday with Whiting. No final decision yet. We hear regular Sunday race more likely. #AMuS

I'm not sure if they'd run it for Saturday. What about those spectators that will only travel down for Sunday? What about TV time in other countries. Probably the best approach is a regular Sunday race, but then we'll be subjected to delayed starts, safety car starts etc. :(

Just evac by road with police escort. Depending on where the hospital is it might be even be any slower.
I don't think that's an option. What about spinal injuries and bumpy roads? It might be quicker with a police escort than a helicopter but I'd imagine the helicopter is the safest way to get a patient to hospital.

Lets hope that qualifying and the race can pass with little disruption by the weather and/or smog.

How is a man supposed to pick his Fantasy F1 team without any meaningful practice data! Seriously though hope they are able to run normally for the rest of the weekend.

I suppose only a medical professional can answer that one. Bear in mind that in the UK we don't have any medical helicopters. The NHS relies on a charity (AirAmbulance) that could stop or fold at any time.

Perhaps we'll get some extended running on Saturday, or practice on Saturday with qually and the race on Sunday. Always fun when qually and the race are the same day.

Tell me about it. We've only just got an Air Ambulance in Northern Ireland after the death of the motorcycling medic Dr John Hinds.

Qualifying and race on Sunday's however are great. :)

Wasn't it Japan a couple of years ago with the same weather problem (not smog though), the weekend that witnessed Bianchi's ultimately fatal accident?

2014. There was torrential rain due to a typhoon in the area. When the teams were building little boats from whatever's available and sailing them down the pitlane, you know it's bad.

Ferrari do indeed appear to be extremely strong.
fight this year is hopefully on. Or maybe Ferrari have just leap frogged them.

and yet still finding it hard to get excited about this season. Stupid aero rules.

Damn. Shame for Giovinazzi. Was into Q2 as well at that point.

But I suppose he's done less mileage at this point than the McLarens did in the entire of the 8 days of testing. ;)
